I just picked up 200 mL of grain alcohol for around 5 bucks at the liquor store, and I've begun using it for the added throat hit.

A few things I've noticed:

Going with PGA/VG/PG at around 10/30/60, seems to thin the liquid more than one might expect. When filling poly-fiber carts, it seems to soak in much more easily. I would expect the thinning from the PGA to cause a problem with the liquid from a full cart (with a 510 cart) running in the atomizer causing the gurgling we all hate as the air passages get liquid in them. But quite the opposite seems to happen. The liquid seems much less inclined to run into the air passages. Liquids gurgling into the air passages of carts is my pet peeve with e-smoking, so this is an exciting observation.

Vapability seems to go way up too with the 10% PGA. I don't feel like the PGA gives a lot of extra "throat hit", but it does seem like it gives a lot of what I'd describe as "throat fullness". Seems also that I can vape a cartridge dry in half the time with PGA, so it really seems to enhance vapor production.

I couldn't work out what PGA was for a while - googled it in the end ;)

I guess ethanol has a dislike of contact with polyethylene, or rather polypropylene - the proper word for which escapes me at the moment - so it stays together in the cart.

Polypropyleneophobic? I'd have to check into that, maybe it does.

It's odd, but with 10% or even 5% ethanol, my carts don't drip nearly as bad, and I'm adding 8 drops where I used to add 3 drops.

I'm wondering if a low concentration (5 - 10%) of ethanol, due to it's relatively low boiling point, might disproportionally affect vapor production. A little ethanol, and the e-cig vapes like a mother. If so, then what I suspect as one of the major causes of e-liquid running into the air channels of the carts... condensation... might be somehow minimized by the ethanol's presence?

For a minute there, I thought you were going to vape golfers.

me too :)

DVap - I think the phobia is the reason. there is a better word, but still cant extract it :(

There is a feeling that ethanol prsence lowers deposit levels. Either through lowering the average bp, or perhaps by helping to burn off some of the ash (or lessening its tendency to stick on the coil/existing deposit, or something ...).
