Well, I've been cigarette free since February and feeling strong. For the first time in my life they smell absolutely repulsive to me! I feel free from the "cigarette thing"! Feels good. Now I am a couple weeks into phase II. I had started with 24mg juice. I stepped down to 18mg a week or two ago. Now I am on 12mg and feeling good. I will soon be ordering more juice and doublers so I can continue to decrease the nic content incrementally. I have been decreasing by 6mg at a time but I wonder if that may be too much now as a 6mg cut would be a 50% reduction. That may be too big a step. I'm wondering if a progression like 12, 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 may be better. Anyone had any experience here? How did you step it down? Were you successful? My goal is to be free from nicotine within the next month or two and free of the PV shortly after that. I may keep it around for a while as an emergency "pacifier" with 0mg juice. I really want to be free from addiction and any small harm the PG/VG may be doing. Also, nicotine is known to be a culprit in vascular disease and I would like to stop using nicotine because of that. I've come so far and I can see complete freedom on the horizon!

Maybe once you get down to 6 or 3mg just try to reduce the frequency that you vape. Say you take 10 puffs every hour or so right now, then you would increase the time between vaping sessions. Like 10 puffs every two hours, then every 4 hours, etc.

Then you won't be thinking about it as much and you won't have to worry about trying to measure out a 1mg dose, etc.

The commonly-available strength levels are 12, 8, 6 and 4. If you want more steps than that, you'll have to mix your own. Once you get down to 4mg, your best bet is to just switch between 4 and 0 until you can get rid of the 4 completely. Shouldn't be much of an issue, since at that point you're getting very little nic and hardly any TH. If you can handle 4, you can definitely quit altogether.

Unfortunately, it seems that most people who succeed in quitting spend very little (if any) time on the forums. It would be fantastic if they would continue to post after they've quit, but it's very rare.

While it's true that these forums have been (primarily) a great source of help, motivation, and inspiration for me I can see how I may lose some interest once I am quit. I will try to post periodic updates as to my progress. Maybe that will be inspiration for others. I do see the very real possibility that once I'm completely free of nic and the PV that my posts could become less frequent, I will do my best to continue with this community and possibly help others along this same road. I want to help others as others have helped me. :)

I also stopped cigs in February and started at about 26mg of nic on the PV. I'm down to roughly 16mg now though I still take a higher nic puff now and then. I think you are doing really well! And, if you find that 6mg is not enough, you can always go back up a little and adjust as you go. Taking your time is something you deserve to give yourself for quitting!

I may not be quit of the nic anytime soon this year simply due to upcoming stressful times but I'm confident I can do it now.
