Interesting thread... I am on this journey as well. I started at 18 about a month ago, I am at 12mg by now. I did not notice much of a change from 18 to 12, now last night I got a bottle of my ADV in 6mg and wow... The flavors? Incredible. It seems like low nic really makes juice pop. The throat hit did take a big drop.

I have to swing by a shop and get my tobacco flavors in 6mg to try.

Nic does seem to cover up flavor to a degree.
Everybody is different, some have no problem dropping nic, while others struggle or have no desire to lower their nic.
I notice better flavor when the nic bite is lowered. When I start really tasting that peppery flavor of the nic, it's time for me to lower it again.

I started out at 24 & 18mg and have dropped to 8mg. I will lower it again by 1mg probably after a couple more months. Dropping 3mg those first five steps wasn't that hard. Dropping below 9mg starts scaring meso I'm taking those steps s l o w l y

Yeah, I'm convinced nic isn't such the addictive dragon. There are other things in cigs that combined with nic that make cigs the dragon they are. I fully believe that those other things are what make some people struggle even with vaping.

I started at 24/18mg, then moved down to 12, 9,6, 4, and am now to 2mg. 0mg has absolutely no throat hit for me, so that's a deal-breaker! Staying at 2 for the time being.

I DIY pretty much exclusively, but I bought into the hype recently, and got some vendor juice in 6mg, that was the lowest available. Literally, could not vape it!

Have you tried different flavors? Citrus tends to have more throat hit than berries. "Wild" added to the flavor or "sour" also has more of a bite.

I just purchased my first bottle of 6 mg (been vaping 12mg) and I'm about 24 hrs in. As this is my first step down, I immediately found it less satisfying. Throat hit is barley noticeable. I find myself taking much bigger drags.

Hopefully as my body adjusts it will feel satisfying again.. the vapour is definitely smoother but God I miss that throat hit

When going from 12, I usually recommend going down to 9 or 10.
Then 6 from there

I buy my juice from halo and they only offer 12 and 6 :/

Maybe a tank equal parts 12 mg and 6 mg mix will average out to 9 mg? Gonna give that a shot

Edit: just mixed up a tank of 6 mg sub zero and 12 mg kringles kurse (equal parts) I'm feeling much better now lol. Perfect step down from 12 mg. Not cool how they don't match the nic content in the free sample of kringles kurse to the rest of my order but it worked out nicely this time

That will take you to 9mg.

I know with HHV, I can request what mg nic I want even if it is not listed. I just request in the notes field when I place my order.

Oh yeah, pretty much have tried everything  Can't stand fruits, wish I could:(

I recommend trying the Pear Juice from MBV. Their juice is so cheap you really won't be out much at all. I wasn't big on them either and this is the only juice I've ever had that HONESTLY tastes like the fruit. It's so similar in taste that I can even get the texture of a pear when I vape...pretty crazy. I added 1 flavor shot, 65/45pgvg

Interesting read here. I'm a newbie... quit on New Years Day and haven't (seriously) considered smoking since.

My thing is, I think I'm more addicted to the hand-to-mouth motion, and the oral stimulation (geez, that sounds dirty) aspects of smoking than to the nicotine (though I did smoke about 15 cigs/day for about 30 years).

Anyway, what works for me is to keep a clearo of 18 mg on on bat, and one of 6 mg on another or two. At those times I really feel the need for a nicotine hit, I take a few hits off the 18. That's usually 4 or 5 times/day. But, I am a self-employed IT worker, and sit at my computer all day... and then I love vaping away on the 6 and sucking down coffee while I'm working (it's like 1989 all over again, lol).

The 18 mg is starting to feel a little strong already, and I'm thinking of cutting to 12 when I re-order, and want to cut the "all-day" dosage to 0 ... but don't want to undercut it too much too fast and risk a relapse.

Good advice. Thanks, Ken...

Yeah... Go ahead and cut the higher nic this time, then cut the 6 to 4 next time or 3.
If you don't DIY, then get a bottle of 0 nic and a bottle of 6 nic and mix to the level you want.
Cutting each level down at separate times will be easier than doing both at once.
