Every year, CASAA elects half of its board, each board member serving a two-year term. On March 3rd, 2016 CASAA held its annual election of officers and board members. We are pleased to report that Elaine Keller, Ronald J. Ward, Jr., Michael Cozzi and Bruce Nye have been reelected to their positions for a two-year term on the Board of Directors.
CASAA has determined that with the impending FDA regulations and legislative battles, our membership is best served by focusing on legislative and regulatory advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels. As part of refocusing our efforts, the position of Chief Scientific Officer has been eliminated. Dr. Phillips, therefore, is no longer associated with CASAA in an official capacity. We are grateful for Dr. Phillips’ contributions to the organization and look forward to his future contributions to the
tobacco harm reduction movement. Dr. Igor Burstyn opted not to stand for reelection, and we thank him for his considerable efforts to advance our cause.
