IMHO, Random.org is the way to go to decide the winner.

That is why we went with random the last contest BUT on the hander if you go random on a creative contest, there is really no reason to get creative, so those that really to get creative are kind of wasting there time.

My Contest Suggestion

How about an internet-wide scavenger hunt of some sort? Doesn't even need to be specific answers you're looking for, just things that can be interpreted to fit them (might work out to be more fun this way). You could use the Valentine's Day theme when putting together the list of clues easy enough. Then do a random drawing from the people that completed the scavenger hunt

We actually thought of a scavenger hunt when we did the first contest at the time we were not really sure the best way to set it up... That is why we went with the find santas missing hat contest.

we'll. since I only have internet on my mobile phone and tablet and cannot figure out different colors for the heading I will just watch. Bummer

Lady M I didn't say those posts would be disqualified, I just pointed out they might be easier to find. I will repost yours in a moment for you!

So far I like Blu's idea the most. Although instead of moorea being the judge or 'likes' being the judge, I think a random post # would be fair. But if you could limit it to 2 or 3 submissions so the insomniacs and ECF addicts don't bogart the entries ;)

I still cant think of a good contest idea myself, so for now I'll just campaign for Blu :D

Well you have a week to work on it OR until this thread reaches 1,000 posts.

Please note I edited the rules as follows so I do not get in trouble with the ECF:

A winner will be chosen on February 1st! And this thread will be closed if/when it reaches 1,000 posts.

My Contest Suggestion Make a "Valentines Day Story". Moorea starts off with the first sentence of the day and everyone gets to adlib the next sentence. At the end of the day moorea does the random thingy that will pick the winner of that days sentence. Then the next day the adlib will build off of the winners sentence of the day before (which is posted in large colored text each day). Once someone's sentence of the day is a winner then they are put into the pot for the final (random thingy again) draw. Now this would mean only one person a day gets put into the pot so depends on how many days the contest runs as to how long the story ends up and how many are in the final drawing.....but in the end should have a fun story to read. I think also fair that once a persons sentence wins then they are no longer eligble to win another sentence of the day.

Oh but chit chat would still be ok! :toast:

What if 2 or more try to follow the same sentence (if a person's computer lags longer) ..... does that make sense? :)

Or if they can't type like me? LOL

The object is to win (random winner) the best sentence of the day it is not a continuation of the poster above but of the original sentence of the day.

Example incoming >

Yes it makes sense, but a good idea, while I want to be fare to all there is always the other side of the coin that if we include every ones short comings, we might not ever find a contest!

Yea, thats always hard to do. A lot of forums here have 'word association games' and if you get a lot of people on at once it gets confusing and lame real quick.

MY CONTEST SUGGESTION

How about if you have everyone submit ONE quote of their liking that is roughly vaping or if you want Valentines Day themed. I don't know if you would wish it to be only well-known people's quotes or would allow people to create their own , that would be up to you. You could then choose based on the number of likes or by your own personal favorite one.

Seeing as I had to close my chit chat thread, whatever contest is chosen, chit chat will have to be OK!

If you limit the amount of entries one can make, you can always have us number them. and when a random is picked and it chooses a post thats not an entry you can choose another random till you get one. I'm just firm believer in limiting the number of submissions, ECF takes up too much of my life as it is...
