When will the Valentine tanks be up? I have a black GLV with the sparkle flecks and the valentine tanks sound like they would be a great companion!!!

The should be done Tuesday, but it will take a few days to photograph them and get them each added to the site, so I am guessing if all goes well Thursday or Friday.

i was showing my grandaughter my tank she just loves it she say i wonder if she makes cuff bracelets an rings like that :laugh:

We actually made 12 pendants when we made the very first batch of tanks... Just never got a chance to photograph them and get them on the site. Now we are a short a few as I broke one (they are not Pyrex) and gave a few as Christmas gifts!

Those look great moorea, and I love the site's graphics change! It's hard to tell what the patterns are though .... are they anything specific, or random?

Mostly just random lines X's etc. These have posed a new challenge in photographing. It looks like they require a huge amount of light. However with that much lighting the camera is picking up dust and stuff that is not visible with the naked eye... When I look at them they are clean and shiny, but when photographed with enough light they look like something that I would not buy!

This is what I am seeing when the picture is at full size:

I guess it isn't that bad when the picture gets scaled down though.

But I swear that dust is not there, the tanks and caps are polished and perfect looking! Like all the other pictures we will work on it and find a way to get better photos.

We are saving the intricate stuff for the sand blasting!

So if I understand this correctly.. You are making vinyl stickers to place on the tank, blast them and then remove the sticker? If that's how you do it can you take any vector image and turn it into a blasting template?

Sorry for delayed responses I was watching Real Steal with my son. Surprisingly, although it was predictable it wasn't so bad!

Sounds like you understand perfectly and yes, we should be able to. I will know more and share more with you once we purchase the printer and I explore different program options. But you have to keep in mind, the very tiny size of the tanks might limit what designs can go on it. I promise however I will keep posting as we we move forward!

Moorea - you said some of the new tanks were "black fleck" or "black gold fleck" ..... is that different from the gold-fleck I already have?

Yes, it is the black gold fleck you have!

Yes and no, you would still loose detail, so I wouldn't go to crazy, meaning it would reproduce fonts well, and even tribal designs pretty well so it depends on the detail....I don't even know how to explain how much you lose...I would say you can get creative, but nothing to intricate. look at etched mirror and bottles for ideas of how far you can go. You can get some amazing detail, but you need to know how far you can push the design.

Exactly! But I think we will lose even more detail due to how very tiny these tanks are. In other words a design that is fairly detailed in terms of sand blasting would work fine on a large Pyrex dish, but when scaled down to our tiny tank... you would lose most of that detail. Any time you scale down a large design you lose detail. What I had in mind for the sand blasting was mostly the things you mentioned. Lettering was on the top of my list and why I'm most excited about it. But as I said in other posts tribal designs should be awesome, as well as simple lizards, silhouette and profiles, moon and star designs ect. Now if someone wants to do a portrait of their dog and include every hair that obviously will not work.

When I say this process will allow more detail, I am referring to far more detail then the glass blowing allows. As to how much we will just have to see!

I thought you knew! LOL I've had insomnia since '94 .... they give me all kinds of stuff (trazadone is this year's offering) but nothing really helps. If I can't fall asleep, lying in bed just p's me off, so I get up and do stuff. If I'm not asleep by about 3, I just stay up. (I have to be up at 5:30 to get daughter up at 6 for school)

And yes - I am excited!! LOL

I knew about the insomnia... I was just thinking you might also be excited to get your GLV!

It is interesting that it started it 94'. I've had insomnia for as long as I can remember, probably dating back to my very early early teen years if not earlier. I never realized it was something that could just happen later in life. I've never tried anything for it however. I have a very stupid phobia of about taking something that will force me to sleep, I get worried that if I need to wake up I won't. I usually end up watching TV or messing around on the computer or often both. My insomnia is probably why I watch way too many TV series! It works out well for me however, because if you are going to do something that will bring down a customers website for a few hours it is always better to do so in the middle of the night!
