In terms of the PG/VG thing, I find that a blend of the two works better than one or the other alone -- but other people have different experiences. VG gives me more of that phleghmy-sensation, PG gives me a drier sensation. PG carries the flavor better than VG does, but VG produces vapor better than PG does. Etc, etc. So for me, blending is the way to go, and I tend to stay midrange (between 60/40, 50/50 and 40/60 ratios, depending on the juice).
VapeDudes is almost all 50/50 juices as standard stock. ECBlend asks you to pick your PG/VG levels on their flavors, so if you choose 50/50, you get that -- they blend to order. Either of them are great options.![]()
Thank you very muchAm excited on my journey
What flavors do you vape?
Like Warren & Tigerlily, I had more phlegm in the beginning, but it was the old sludge from my lungs working its way out. Hot steamy showers in the morning helped me move it on out more quickly. Now, no smoker's cough in the morning, and sinuses & allergies are WAY less annoying. It took me a couple of weeks to 'work it out', but I feel great now. I don't get winded as easily and am able to be more active. And yes, I drink lots more fluid than before. I do stay away from moo juice since it makes me more mucous-y.
Probably you mean silica, one of the materials the wicks are made of?
This is quite a dramatic claim, that silica particles are going out an atty! How did you test this? Can you describe the testing procedure a bit more closely?
But yes, I agree that a stainless steel wick is probably best. What organic materials did you have in mind?
SS mesh may be a good idea, but too heavy to manage it. i have approx 3 meters of it & dont likeNow I can't imagine what to do with it. May be throw it away.
About silica fiber, on which most wicked attys built. I tested condensate from atty by microscope and found needdle-like particles in condensate. Then I made this test: I placed the wick with coil about 1 cm at object glass and turned power on for 2 seconds, then looked at condensate - found nedles again. I raised discussion at ecigtalk.ru forum, and another one man made his own tests in a laboratory. He tested standart attys (condensate from atty , condenced vapour and seconhand vapour) and found needles too.

This problem was found at december 2011. since that time we actively using cotton & bamboo fibre instead of silica. I organized something like a subcommunity of naturalfibervapers. Now we actively develop this idea & looking for best meterials. But for now the main is cotton (bandage from drugstore) the second is bamboo yarn.
Lifetime of organic wick depends on how well it's wetted by liquid. varyes from 1 day to more than 14. best results on tank systems or dripping of course.
Don't the cotton and bamboo yarn burn when wrapped with the hot coil?
