Just wicked an el cheapo phoenix and I read reviews that they should taste great but it tastes like straight up silica from the wick. Is there a break in period for silica? Im used to SS.
rizzo, I do my Phoenixes with vertical SS Mesh, I just oxidized the bottom part (the base) but now I'm using them fully unoxized but wrap the bottom 1 ~ 2 mm in a thin layer of cotton, that prevents shorts darn well
i'm not a fan of silica, most of the time SS Mesh and now and then cotton (or a combination of both)
