I bought some Inawera piña colada concentrate and mixed it straight up with 50/50 pg/vg at 3 mg/ml nic and it has a harsh bite to it until I vape it for a while. I then reduced the percentage of the piña colada concentrate and added a few drops of smooth and that did not reduce the bite at all. I then tried mixing it with some FW butterscotch and FW vanilla cream and it still has a bite. Not as bad, but it is still there.

Any ideas on how to get rid of the bite? I really like the taste, but I hate the bite.

I have a problem with the acidic bite found in some pineapples as well as some limes (TFA's lemon-lime is the worst). I have found that Flavour Art's MTS vape Wizard can help. In their description they state "MTS vape wizard contributes toward softening any acidic/sour perception,..." Start low, about 0.5%, and increase slowly. Too much (like pretty much anything else) will diminish the desired flavor.

Flavour Art also makes another adjunct called AAA Magic Mask which is also an acid-perception reducer (without the "thickening" aspect of MTS) that might be useful. I have yet to try it so I am only thinking out loud on this one.

And, as @SteveS45 has suggested, I don't know if that concentrate has ethyl alcohol (which can cause a bite or harshness) in it. If you have a small amount (30mL or less), I would try leaving the cap off for a day, to see if it will evaporate off. If you have more than 30mL, I would draw off 5-10mL, and experiment with that. You should see results faster (the larger the batch; the more time it takes to change) and you would wreck the whole batch if the results are not to your liking.

Heat (+/- 100-120F) can help to accelerate this. Just be aware, that you can also lose desired volatile notes that add to the bouquet of the overall profile, so you might want to taste from time to time.

Be sure to let us know what you find out. :D

I actually figured out that the alcohol was unpleasant after making a DIY batch that I tasted late one night and was really turned off and left the tank in the stand for about a day when I came back to it that had disappeared and when I refilled the tank it came back. Let it air out and age with a little heat to speed things up has worked for me ever since.
