Had an unusual breakdown of my 6 week only Pico Squeeze. Was working fine this morning. Went to use it after lunch and, after taking a drag and releasing the fire button, it continued to fire. I jiggled the button a bit, but it kept on firing until I unscrewed the atty (a SXK Hadaly).

Tried it with a different atty and, as soon as I screwed it on, it started to fire. Removed it and then turned off the Squeeze with five clicks. Screwed the atty back on and it started to fire even with the mod turned off!

The button is not stuck – without an atty attached, the lights come on and flash as they should when the button is pressed.

When it autofires the battery does not get hot at all. There is, however, a strong burning insulation smell when I sniff the battery compartment with the battery removed.

Any suggestions as to a fix, or is it beyond hope of repair?

It definitely sucks and I sympathize with you! In all the time I have been vaping I never had defective gear except for the first Buck Naked Slim Kit. Returned it for an iStick and never looked back. Did you try contacting FT yet?

I bought it from a US vendor, but not 100% sure which one. Going to dig up the receipt, but don't have high hopes on getting an exchange since it's past 30 days. The cost (paid under $20 for it on sale) makes it not worth the effort to get warranty support from iStick. Might give it a shot after CNY, but not going to invest much time or effort.

I've actually had very few defective mods myself -- probably only 2 or 3 over the years that failed. This one, however, was rather unique in how it failed. I've had mods auto fire before, but never had a mod that autofired when it was turned off.

Interesting someone would expect a 90 day warranty for an $18 throw away device!!
Yep. Unfortunately almost all devices have a 30 day warranty that is often more work then it's worth to get a replacement unit or refund. If you buy from a B&M, they can be more flexible IME.

My Provaris and my SX Mini have 1 year warranty but very few other (inexpensive) mod manufacturers offer more than a month. Seems to be the industry standard.

Well the response from the vendor (My Freedom Smokes) was unexpected -- they provided me with a pre-paid return envelope, and offered either a replacement or refund. Wow! I'm probably going to go the refund route (as a store credit) since I have several other squonkers and the Pico, while excellent in terms of size, was a bit difficult for me to use at times due to my arthritis. Plus the whole autofire while turned off makes me a bit skittish of the mod in general.

Credit to MFS for really taking care of things!

Interesting that eLeaf does follow the same unwritten rules of a good business because this is what is copied right from the eLeaf site.

We still offer 90-day free-replacement warranty service for all our products of quality problems.
