Dad uses a Mauser 32acp

I prefer my Sig P220 45acp.

Just zeroed the sights on my new 5.56 10.5" AR SBR, yesterday. Used 25yd & 50yd targeting. MOA was low, so 8 clicks later on front sight got zero, but then the sight pin wouldn't release the pivot. Had to raise the sight 3 clocks to fold the sight. Guess I have to aim high. It's not for EDC, though. >OT

I have quite a bit of EDC gear. Dunno why I haven't posted in this thread sooner.

-Leatherman Charge+
-Emisar D4V2 SST20 5000K
-Any one of my chef-sharp flipper knives
-Seiko SKX007 (heavily modded w/NH36 movement, dial, bezel, sapphire double dome crystal, ceramic YM bezel insert, Benz hands, custom paracord bracelet
-SAK 580 (nail clipper FTW)
-nifty titanium toothpick and ear scratcher set on keychain
-Leather field notebook/wallet
-Hankie
-Pill fob for daily scrips
-EDC backpack w/other necessities.

Not to mention the Suburban filled with several hundred pounds of miscellaneous tools (shovels, saws) mechanic set...

Is there such thing as too prepared?

Stocked trauma FAK, also.

What no energy bars of SS water bottle for hydration? :D

Actually, yeah, I carry a 64oz Hydroflask w/ custom cord handle and straw lid, and wifey keeps me stocked w/ granola bars lol

Other items, compass, several fire starters (Zippo w/ Thunderbird in pocket), couple mylar blankets, socks, extra shirt, shorts, 50' cordage, folding saw, magnifying fresnel, earplugs, compact telescope.

I live near the smoky mountains, so wilderness all around. Boy scouts ruined me with "Always be prepared"

Good morning. It has been a while since I posted on this thread. I try to daily carry a couple of pocket knives and a few other things. Usually a small Old Timer 3-blade, a small Gerber, Leatherman "Wingman", along with either my RIA 1911 or Beretta 90-Two. Oh, I also carry an emergency/first responders shoulder bag with my spare vaping gear, tablet, and assorted crap. I would like to carry the Beretta more often, however, I haven't found a good, comfortable holster until now. I just got an IWB AlienGear holster. I'm really impressed with the quality and the comfort of the holster along with the retention of the pistol. I have a leather IWB holster for the 1911 but it not in the same league as the AlienGear. I think another of these will be ordered for my 1911. One option they offered and I got was what they call the "IWB Cloak Dock". It is two pieces of Polymer that can be mounted to wood, plastic, drywall, and sheet metal. Then the holster can be mounted to the system for easy access. I'm going to mount the set in my Jeep that way I can have access while driving and be more comfortable. Lord Almighty, I sound like a commercial. Anyway, here's a pic of the holster and pistol.

Time to show off new 'stuff?

Just picked this up the beginning of the week. I love private sales ,,, no government paperwork tracing it too me. ;) Previous owner had 3 of these and only shot 1 30 round mag through this one. It's like new. Glad he needed money for a 'new' purchase, now it's mine.

Nice, @MikeE3, are you going to put any optics on it?

Not sure what yet ... so the answer is yes. Just won't be any kind/variation of a red dot. I can't use those kind because of my eyes. For 'why-ever' when looking at a red dot and even a projected lazer beam (red or green) dot, I see two over lapping dots and I don't know with is the real one or is the real one the intersection of the two dots.

On a scope I'm best with an old fashioned cross hair that I can see fine.

I understand your dilemma, I can't see the crosshairs or red dot with my right eye. The result is me switching to shooting left-handed. I spent the summer getting used to shooting left-handed with the .22 and the .17. I'm not happy with it but it is what it is. On my AR I have the Vortex Sparc AR Red Dot with the Vortex VMX-3T 3X Magnifier.
