Maybe all this should be moved to a "Where can I buy a Knockoff" and "How do you like your "Knockoff" thread. Post your pictures but please do keep the touting off this thread.

Will do after this thread is renamed "post pictures of your authentic setups and nothing else". Preferrably with some kind of rule enforcing against normal discussions. Im a reasonable person.

And nobody is selling anything to anyone, so "touting" is just wrong.

Not everyone can afford the real deal myself included. I hope I read the title of this thread correctly when it said "Pictures of YOUR Setup". Its kinda messed up to be knocking someone for what they own whether it's "real" or not.

Not everyone can afford the real deal myself included. I hope I read the title of this thread correctly when it said "Pictures of YOUR Setup". Its kinda messed up to be knocking someone for what they own whether it's "real" or not.

Not knocking anyone, there are loads of options to vape on a budget without supporting blatent rip-offs that even have the gull to steal a logo or claim to be a 1-1 "clone". They are knock-offs not clones. Clones would suggest a lisencing agreement with the designer. Let's call them what they are.

Go ahead and post your pictures, I never said not to. I also am not judging anyone, I mearly suggested not to help the "businesses" that carry stolen designs here in a picture thread by posting where they are available.

Maybe I am sensitive but as an artist I have some empathy as to what it feels like to see work taken and profited by by others who didn't put the WORK in.

I remember when Chinese citizens risked their lives scaling the great wall of China to escape.

I'm afraid Pandora's box has opened.
Many including myself are suffering as a result.
Many Chinese have benefited and I'm happy for them.

I'm not completely crazy about the whole clone deal myself, but I don't think the original manufacturers are likely to be hurt much by it. Someone who is in the marker for a $30-$50 clone is not likely to be the same person that would buy the original. I just think they are kind of cheesy. At least I haven't heard of someone trying to pass one off as the real deal, something that happens in other industries. If you want to buy a reasonably priced mod, buy something like a Magneto which isn't a total copy.

Probably not the best place for the clone argument as this is the photo of your gear thread.

I do agree with you though as I loathe clones.

Easy solution is to just breeze on past photos of clones. I never click the like button on any of them, because.. Well, I don't like them..

Discussion of where to get clones should be just as welcome as where to get anything else, as they're all allowed by ECF rules. Your bias, however, has no place in this thread.
