I love how clones are getting so good people have to point out that they have the genuine mod. And yes my clone Grand Vapor mod hits harder then my genuine Grand Vapor mod with silver plated contacts. Also that silver plating doesn't last long a month later the actual parts touching the battery didn't have any silver plating left.

It is my uderstanding, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it is recommended to use unprotected batteries in the Vamo due to the built in protection of the APV itself.

The recommendation is to use safe chemistry IMR batteries for their high drain capabilities -- the red AW, Efest, or similar, like these.

Correct. The Vamos will not work with a protected battery. Though the ICR batteries are not as safe as some others.

Yes, but ICR cells have a chemistry that can cause them to explode if they go into thermal runaway, and the Vamo is capable of putting enough drain on the battery to make that happen.

Yes! Something that is capable of delivering up to 10A.

The ICR's are fine for use in low drain devices.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my Oh Sierra! alarm went off when I saw that cell sitting there.
