I have been reading thru thru last few pages of this thread and I found it very disheartening.Everyone seems to want mods and LR attys. When some of us started vaping these things didnt even exist or were very expensive. We did just fine with stock batts and attys. Then we saved up our money little by little and got better things and slowly moved up,step by step.I find it upsetting when someone offers a batt or something and its not good enough, they want better than that.We all didnt start out with the best.Vaping is an investment in your health.Use that money you always found for smokes to buy your ecig stuff.Everyone here wants to help,we look for ways to help, but come on.Everyone has to make a little effort and try.If you want mods and fancy stuff, then save up the money your not spending on smokes and get some stuff. There are alot of very kind people here, please dont ruin that by taking advantage of it.Ask only for what you need to keep you going until you can afford better.PLEASE,We are not a non profit charity,we pay for these things with our own hard earned money. Please just think about it.
There's a chat thread for it, but I thought I'd offer my response.
You make an excellent point. Things such as mods, LR atties, mega batteries, pretty much upgrade items are a luxury in the vaping world for some, but for others they are the norm. For me, I started out with an 801 I bought at the mall, and after some time, I bought a DSE-905 and a couple LR atties. To me, this was a HUGE upgrade. Longer battery life, a cooler looking device, and an atty that performs far better than the normal atties did. This device, with an LR atty, became my daily unit, and I used it all the time until it died

This was an upgrade, but in reality, it kept me in the vaping world much better than the regular 801 did.
It takes a HUGE effort for some to swallow their pride and ask for help. Some never ask for help and end up relapsing and we never hear about it, and for them, I assume they have a fear in their heart that they will be seen as taking advantage of someone by asking for help, so they don't ask and they fall off the face of the vaping world.
I agree that a person shouldn't ask for too much, or ask for something that is to much to ask for, but on the flip-side, I ENCOURAGE people to ask for help, even if it's for something that might be seen as a luxury item. If it keeps them going, if it helps them in any way, it's worth fulfilling the need. It tears me up that I don't have Egos or Silver Bullets to give away to people who are in need, and it hurts my heart that I have had to ask for help when I feel that
I should be the one helping.
I don't want to ever scare anyone away by saying they shouldn't ask for mods or mega batteries (not saying that you are), and they should be given the opportunity to throw it out there and see if someone responds. It's uncomfy enough to have to swallow pride, it's even worse if someone says "go away, you're asking for too much".
I hope I didn't offend anyone, upset anyone, or overstep any boundaries. This is a sensitive topic for me, and I almost said nothing.
