I'm hearing here, and asking, "that's the excuse, now what's the reason"? Sounds a bit like you're putting up barriers and not making a commitment. OK I understand, quitting with vaping was easy for me and I just took the plunge without balking too much. That was my experience. However, if you really want to vape instead of smoke, you'll make it happen, regardless of your budget. That's the way I see it, and feel it. Sorry to be so blunt. I'm seeing excuses. I really do hope that you make a decision and stick to it, and I welcome you here with wide open arms, we'll help you no questions asked

. I smoked for a very long time, I'm still smoking as far as I'm concerned, only in a different way. It's much better. Well at least I think so... cheering you on, just make the choice.
I have to toss my fiddy cent in here for a moment, and if i come across to strong or rude then i apologize now.
Before i even got my fuma e-cig starter kit, and Full Flavor carts. Yes it was sent from the states and every time i needed more carts she would send them up, seeing as she was going through UPS and it was under the NAFTA treaty (check it out sometime, if USA vendors use that to send to Canada you are so in the clear ~~ inside information though ~~). When the silly KR808D-1 battery would need to be charged after four hours use, i would turn to the rolling paper and cigarette butts i collected.
Being on Social Assistance, waiting for medical to kick in, i was getting $520/month. Seeing as my rent for well lets say less then desirable apartment, left me $200.00 That
would seem enough now lets factor in oh....say groceries (for a month) + needed to be on a very special diet + afford medications not covered by the medical plan + laundry + toiletries. which part of when i was trying to get started do i drop so as i could as is stated
making it happen despite the budget? Rent? I mean who needs a roof over their head. Special diet? due to serious medical issues, who needs to take care of themselves. Medication? hey being a vaper means you are immortal. Laundry? well i have the vape to make me smell good right? toiletries? who needs things like soap/shampoo/under arm deodorant
I started smoking when i was 14, and only because i had the coconuts to look my parents in the face and ask them if i could start. I am one year away from being 40 (ARGH!!! did i have to admit that???). I watched my grandfather pass away due to cigs, i got to read about my grand mother passing, i saw my aunt and her chemo and then heard through the grape vine on my uncle, and then earlier this year heard my brother passed on. Shoot, i even suffered some mini heart attacks. Did that stop me from smoking? nope. Why? Because i did not have it anywhere in the budget to do otherwise. I mean it is not like i have a local store where i can order online for local pick up and avoid some god aweful delivery charges.
Did i know about this forum? Not at first. Why? Because i did not know any vapers personally. Let alone asking for help and a PIF. How did i finally get a pair of older ego's, LR atty and SR atty? Katmandu had read a review i did on Smoking NZ and posted it in here, where the discussion for that thread turned into how i was displeased with them, and 0 nicotine and how sick i felt. I met Katmandu at a local mall, and sure i did not know if i should offer cash or the fuma's but i thought a trade, unless katmandu wanted cash. We talked for over a hour as she vaped right there in the mall, and i about wanted to crawl under the table, while looking around to make sure the mall cops where not coming to arrest us. (yes that was humor)
Did i make stumbles? Sure. I would run out of juice countless times and needed to many a weekend grab a pack of smokes and light up feeling like a cheat just wanting to come view the boards. Yes my income increased a bit more after this, but where was the finer details? How much juice was one to order per month......or even bi weekly? What was the benefits of PG versus VG aside from the stand by answer of
well pg is chemical based and creates little vapor. VG you see is vegetable based and is thicker, though it creates more vapor
I have watched the community as a whole go from passive aggressive to the whole
"well it ain't my fault, as i have MY things, so stop being whinny about your situation". Or i watch as i see the other end of the stick as it where with
"Well you did not buy what i said you should get, so now i am going to be mad at you, and me and the high school cliche are going to hound you all over this site and tell you that you are wrong". There is a reason why i am glad i left high school and puberty behind, and that was it!
Personally, if you are making $1,000.00 per month or $100, if you are wanting to give vaping a try, i do not care how many times you stumble you should be congratulated not told it is your fault for not wanting to find a ends to a means.
Everyone, and i mean
everyone has something to offer the community as a whole: being it being thoughtful of others, being able to get creative, how about someone who can do a review and relate to everyone so no one feels like they are being talked down to, or even someone that can offer a friendly ear? Do we see more of it? nope. why? because some of the stinking attitudes around here that is along the lines of
holier then thou
When i joined back in December i wanted to come here, i wanted to read post after post and laugh, or share laughs i wanted to get the ECF cards and get ready to hand them out. Not any more....Sure i still try to bring humor here and there to make people laugh, but when i talk to some around town about what i am doing, i try to refer them to my google plus account i used to have that had tons of information that they could use as a friendly and unbiased manner.
I am not saying we have to all join hands and skip down the road singing we are the world (ARGH!!!), but i am just saying can we all strive to carry on a successful PIF? Lets show the rest of ECF that us Canadians can go above and beyond the call of touting (leave the comment alone).
Oh and as for me? Yes i "officially" started seriously vaping April 10th 2012 when my wife came to visit me from the USA, which incidentally next year i will be moving there for good. I started on a fumma 808, then a PIF from Katmandu seen to it that i got two 650's....i have now evolved into a VV user on a saber touch VV, and Lave tube (me and my wife call it Dragons Breath) version one and i would love a version two.....
How did i get that far since i first tested the waters in December 2011? A Fellow Canadian doing a PIF who did not say there was a end to the means, and re-work your budget.....
I am just saying.......ya know?
