Does anyone have a Sunpipe or ever tried one? They have a few available right now and they do look pretty nice.

I don't know what's up with them. They had the same pipes up on the site for a long time, taunting me. A few months ago, I finally tried to buy one, and as I tried to check out, it said it was unavailable. I tried several others too, just out of curiosity, and same thing. I don't know if they've updated since then, but I found that a little strange. They sure make some beautiful pipes, though!

ok this thread is amazing. however im wondering one tthing. how do you guys seat the 510 connector in the pipe? press fit? epoxy?
i think i might try converting a pipe soon !!

I press-fit mine, and tried to use epoxy as sparingly as possible in the pipe, just in case something needed to be replaced at some point.

As a beginner in vaping a few months ago I bought a sunpipe at del-sole - "pacifico uno":
- 1st use -> short circuit -> back to Italy -> back to France -> working at last after 3-4 week...:?:
- can only be used with their "cartomizzatore ceramico WR (Phantom)" - the stem does not connect to a 510 carto :?:
- after a few researchs I saw it can be replaced by this kind of stuff :
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1339302
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10004066/1295000
- but after all that research, long shipping, etc, I lost interest in the stuff. I converted my own epipes :2cool:, and I bought a freight train :2cool:

Now pacifico uno lies somewhere in a box, beautiful and useless, like those virgins dedicated to cruel gods, hiding in the shadow of antic temples their forbidden beauty...

Thanks for the feedback Hirize. I'll be sure to take them off my wish list. I have a few different brands of e-pipes and what I find in my hand 99% of the time is an Epipemod. Specifically my gandalf "Gizmo" and Hawkeye. I haven't found anything as user friendly, beautiful, simple, and just plain awesome. I do love my Frieght Train but only really use it at my desk, just too big to walk around with but that my fault, you get what you ask for.

And at that price point who WOULDN'T try one out? Smok just lowered the price on theirs with the latest batch and they still can't compete at this price.

Yeah, but is it worth the night in jail when the cops see you vaping it and think you're doing something else?

it's a cheaper battery holder in crappy chrome over brass, so I doubt it is worth the $20 they are asking for it to be honest. I passed on the Smok a nmber of times when I finally decided that even for a pocket rocket I didn;t want something like that. But hey, anything that makes a pipe convert out of someone is good by me.

You know, at this price point, if it works well, this could almost be the ultimate standard pipe to e-pipe conversion kit (for the non-techie types like myself). Cut the 510 end off, be careful with the wires inside. Open up the bowl on a standard pipe to slide in the body of this pipe. Open up the part where the stem attaches to shove the 510 part in. Man you are there. Nice switch on the top, everything is ready to vape.

This assumes you can extend the wires to the 510 connector and also that you can replace the battery from the end with the switch. Any thoughts? It may be way to tall and wide to be hidden in a reamed out standard bowl?

It's a bit pricier than the SmokTek pipe, but have you heard of the Leviathan that Smackley Craft is making? They're under $100 (I think) and to my understanding, the mechanical inner part is modular, so once you have one, you could make any type of body or any number of bodies for it and just plug and play.

I have looked into the Leviathan as I failed to make the last cue for Smackley. Sadly looks like he will be doing less and less custom stuff coming up. He just sent a newsletter out this week that specifically addressed the leviathan. The Alpine series is over, but a new line is coming out that i am very interested in! Here is the newsletter in full:

SmackleyCraft Newsletter
What's going on in this summer?
Hey friends of Smackley! I wanted to get a newsletter out, as it has been two months since my last message to all you great supporters of the pipecraft. As some of you may have noticed, I've been a bit sold out of pipes lately. I'm working to improve on that.
This summer I'll be searching for a new work space that will allow me to step up production efforts. I still have absolutely zero plans of making this my full time gig, but I just like making pipes so dern much that I hate having to tell folks that I have nothing available. A new floor space that can help keep my other hobbies at home will allow me to stay focused on making some really cool new pipestuffs.

But when can you make that custom thing we talked about?
While I do love spending time creating some fun vaping devices, I do have a myriad of other vices that keep me busy. I'm a home brewer, an auto racing enthusiast, furniture maker, ....ty cook, DIY repairman, and a husband. This means that I will, unfortunately be taking a short summer break from the commission queue while I tend to my other irons in the fire. I will send notice when new queue openings will be available. Newsletter subscribers will, of course, get the first word on these limited spaces.

So...what's a 'midnight series'?
In June, I was happy to release the first of the Leviathan pipe line, the Alpine Series. I will be finishing that series shortly, and then that will be all-she-wrote in that line of pipes. The end of the Alpine will be the kick off of the Midnight Series; a darker and more sinister variation of the all mechanical pipe mod for Leviathan. Vapers desiring a big battery mod will be pleased to hear that I will have 18500 variations in this series. That should give the RBA/RDA folks some more battery meat to work with while providing the average mech user a longer charge span while piping on the go.

WHEN WHEN WHEN?!!
I'd probably receive hate mail if I just left that answer at "soon", so I'll say that the end of September looks like a good time to start digging through the couch cushions for some spare vape change.

That's all I have for this newsletter. I will stick to my promise of keeping these short, sweet, and rare so that you can spend your email time doing all the other things that keep you happy or distracted. Thanks for signing up and as always...something something vape vape something...

Love,
Laird Rev Smackley, ME EIT PMP CSA 6SGB etc etc

I've been thinking about picking up one of these. I want a mechanical mod, plus I've been thinking of getting a pipe to leave at my desk all day. If I get one I'll post here with feedback.

Though not on the level of the nicer pipes in this thread and it may get dogged on by those with better ones, I happen to like it and think it dolls up nicely. Nice little device on the cheap. I don't think the one they are selling on FT is the original Smok, but may be a spot on clone. I was able to get the Smok a while back in the states for just a few bucks more.

Would that FT e-pipe stand on its own with a Vivi Nova or Kanger Pro Tank? I know it's silly, but the reason I'm interested in a flat bottom pipe is I'm so damn tired of my stuff falling over ALL DAY LONG, and, honestly, I'm not willing to make a stand. I could make an amazing one out in my workshop, I just don't wanna.

I'm not sure. I mainly use my Churchwarden stem and it won't stand on end. Luckily, the 8inch stem makes it easy to find something nearby to rest the stem on to hold it up lol. With atties, cartos, and eVods attached it will stand on it's own, but a ProTank may be pusing it, so not sure. Not a silly reason at all, I'd personally prefer a pipe that stands up by itself with my Churwarden and drippers attached.
