Puma, Duckie -- great new pipes, fellas! I love em.

Here's the new 18500 Hungarian:

I love the way this thing just rests on my chest as I sit back and relax... Amazing. :D I'll give it a C+ for execution. I didn't turn out exactly as planned but, hey, it works and I'm really happy that I pulled off the 18500 design. Vapesafe hard-wired at the bottom of this one. The first one I just soldered the positive lead to a magnet and drop in a Shortstop with each battery swap.

Talk about CURL! This Pyinma is crazy.

Cheers, folks. :toast: :vapor:

Nice, Nick!!! I've always wonderd on those... how do you drill the hole through from the connector to the bowl on an Oompaul?

Nick that is a great looking pipe! Keep this up and we will all be buying pipes from you some day. I've been thinking how to wire the Oom-Paul's that I have and was wondering how you connected the vapesafe. Did you run the wire up out of the bowl and then just coil the excess under it or what? Also some pics down inside the pipe would be great. Thanks.

My Freight Train Oom-Paul is currently being made by Sam. I can't wait to see what it looks like. It's going to be the very first of its kind. I will post pictures as soon as I get them.
Congratulations!!!

So still have to finish my "Chair", for "the man" he better lay.:toast:

Tez, Bigfoot-- the inside of this design was a bit of a pain in the azz. I started with about a 3/4" deep mounting hole at the desired angle for the 510 connector - deep enough for the connector to sit flush while still having some space underneath so the wires weren't being pinched. From there, I used some smaller drill bits and a dremel to bore out a path to the chamber from inside the mounting hole. I gradually opened it up wide enough so that I could drop the trimmed-down vapesafe down the chute. Once that is all set, it's just a matter of feeding the wires into the chamber and cutting them each to their necessary length. I then remove the connector from the pipe, and solder the positive lead to the vapesafe (or magnet, like in the first pipe) before mounting.

I've been doing these pipes with only hand drill accessories, files, dremel and a cheapo soldering kit. This is partially why I'm not wholly satisfied with the results so far. I just got a band saw the other day for making rough cuts. Next up is a drill press, because these cockeyed buttons on top totally kill the aesthetic. I might invest in a mini lathe in the future as well, but I'm not sure I wanna make that leap yet.

Just a thought. I've noticed that since I've been vaping pipes that I tend to kinda Pre-Puff on it like you would when toking on a tobacco pipe to sorta stoke the fire. Anybody else experiencing this or am I just weird?

I am doing the same thing. For a few reasons, among them that I am now chain vaping since I LOVE these pipes so much. However, I am stuck with a lot of 2.0 oHm cartos and wasn;t getting vape I wanted. So I started "puffing" 1 or 2 times (keeping finger down on the trigger) before inhaling on the third and it seems like I am getting better vape on that third pull.

Perfectly normal. Pre-Puffing also helps to clear the stems of redundant air, and filled with flavored vapor. That, and it looks damn cool doing it. ;)

Agreed with all of the above. I rarely inhale into the lungs, unless I'm seriously craving a throat hit. Most times it's just a few puffs and/or a few retro-hales. I vape mostly extracted tobaccos and feel that this is the way to get the most realistic experience. Also, with some NET's, I find that they taste sort of like tobacco tea, if you will, when I inhale. It's just wrong! :D

I also still have that slight fear of the unknown-- regarding how safe it really is, long-term, to be inhaling this stuff on a consistent basis.
