I got my first epipe in a few days ago. It's been an unusual experience for me, as a long-time tobacco pipe smoker, to play around with this thing. I figured it would be mostly a toy, but it's actually really enjoyable, within its limits.

This thing definitely shines best at on-off smoking, and not at extended smoking. I smoked it last night through "Ghost and Mr. Chicken" and it did well, though it started to get harder to puff near the end. I kept smoking it afterward and it just started to get more and more difficult. But if I sat it down for five minutes or so, it would be fine. It seems to be almost the opposite of a tobacco pipe, which shines if you have the two hours to sit down and slowly smoke it straight through, but is annoying if you're at a convention or work or whatever, where you're having to light and relight the thing and worry about it spilling and making a mess. The epipe is awesome for 3 minute smoking after a meal, or sitting back and thinking for a couple of minutes, that sort of thing. I'm curious to keep playing with it, to see if there is any trick that I'm missing to help it provide a long, ongoing smoke, or if it's just best-suited to five minute puffs and that's it.
