Plastic fragments in my premium juice??? Due to poor bottle design?

Hello,

I noticed a strange burnt taste in my juice after vaping it for the second time. I looked in my tank and saw particles. I assumed it was a piece of lint or something. I cleaned out my tank and got ready to refill it.

I noticed after taking off the child protective cap to my bottle that there were black plastic fragments ALL over the rim, and there were plastic fragments now in my juice...

I remember that when I initially screwed the cap back on after refilling for the first time, that it wasn't screwing on properly. It was fitting on half way.

I attached a picture of the particles... has this happened to anyone else??? I think the child protective cap was defective and since its designed to rotate, the friction from the cap caused it to shave off plastic particles into the juice.

I emailed the company I purchased it from, do you think they'll send me new juice or will they expect me to pay to mail it back, or think Im trying to scam them?

Really ...... off because I feel like this big bottle that I waited a week for is contaminated because I don't feel like risking inhaling burnt plastic again... IMG_5030.jpg

Run the liquid through a filter into a glass bottle.

Nevertheless, am interested what the vendor has to say about it, so keep us in the loop...

What kind of filter should I use for this, idk if it's worth the effort, there's big particles like the one in the pic inside the dropper, but the ones I noticed in my tank are like little specks, like the size of a tiny speck of pepper.

Okay thanks, I will try that, I originally thought to do that but was worried that since the juice is thick that it would just absorb and spread over the entire filter and Id lose most the juice.

Hopefully I can get a replacement bottle sent out and I can salvage enough juice to hold me over until then!

Thanks

It might, I've never had to filter my juice to remove plastic particles.

What juice is that?

(Company removed... not trying to 'boycott' them like someone said below..? Just trying to see if I can get a new bottle). It's definitely the childproof mechanism in the cap, I took the dropper off the cap and the childproof ring or however it works isn't sitting right, when I screw the cap down, it's grinding away plastic into the juice.

OK, I've never used that juice.

Sorry you got a bad bottle.

Is the plastic settling to the bottom? floating to the top ?or staying suspended in the juice? I believe the paper filters will just absorb your juice, a reuseable coffee filter might be a better solution to the filter problem. if settling to the bottom I'd try to gently pour or eye dropper off the clear juice and abandon the dregs. top float same in reverse. if it's staying suspended do the home made centrifuge, tie a good string to the top of the bottle and spin it around your head. I would say to do this outdoors in case the string gives and launches your bottle into orbit. Also i'd suggest you warm up the juice 1st ,let it sit in a cup of warm water this should "thin" the juice and help separate the plastic . Most companies will help you out and replace it, just talk with them. Look at it this way, if nothing else if your out in the yard spinning a bottle on a string your neighbors will have something to talk about, If your me they'd just go "WTH is "He" doing now? Good luck and maybe I've helped.

Instead of a coffee filter you could try a double layer of cheesecloth. Just drape it right over the bottle with an elastic band to hold secure. Or you could just chock it up to a loss. Nobody likes to feel like they are wasting their hard earned money but it happens. Hopefully Beantown will check their tops to make sure this was an isolated incident and replace your purchase.

I understand your frustration and would be upset as well, but one crack in a bottle should not destroy a company's reputation. Things do happen to the best companies. I do not even know about said company, but do not boycott them over this. It all comes down to how they remedy the issue.

I never said I was going to boycott them... I never even mentioned the name of the company until someone asked... I was just trying to see if anyone else experienced a problem with these bottles, I mentioned the name once someone asked because idk if this is a major vendor and if anyone has experience with their customer service.

I knew people on here were going to scold me for 'ruining the reputation' of a company for posting about this... I think a defect in packaging that causes tiny pieces of plastic that made their way onto my coil, causing me to inhale melted plastic needs to be addressed...

Dude, don't sweat what other people think about your posts, I know I don't.

There's always someone who looks for things to complain about or to try and cause drama.

I only asked because the liquid was green and I thought it might be another somewhat popular liquid that is known to dissolve plastic on a regular basis.

The bottle didn't look like that other liquid, but I've seen it re-bottled and I also thought they might have changed their packaging.

I think you have a right to be upset, and I hope they make it right for you.

Seriously, no one said anything about a boycott, it's not a cracked bottle, it's plastic in the juice.

Lighten up and stop reading something in a post that isn't there.

Sorry this happened and hope there is a happy ending. I think it is all a part of good customer service and sure they will get in touch with you. It is really to their advantage to keep customers "happy". I also think they will appreciate you letting them know of this problem. You probably helped them. :)

I also don't see anything in your posts that would hurt their reputation for any reasonable person. These things happen. What really counts is how the company handles the situation, not that a problem arose.

I'm sure they will straighten things out to your satisfaction and all will be well.

BTW, for the poor person's centrifuge trick, you can put the bottle in a sock instead of using a string. That way, there's no danger of the bottle going flying. :)

Sorry for the experience. Like others said, use a paper coffee filter. Put it in a plastic funnel (roll it into a cone to line the funnel) and let it filter through into a mason jar or something. Give it some time... let it drain completely until it stops dripping... don't waste the juice if you can help it. Then toss the filter (and plastic chunks) and use the funnel to pour it into a new bottle.
