Neither here nor there
To all of you "cool kids" who are officially able to order the Ploom:

Wondering if someone would be willing to order one for me. My $$$, of course.

I put myself on their magic list on Aug 14, but have apparently been lost in the shuffle. Now I am unable to order.

If anyone would consider expending a little extra effort for a fellow vaper, it would be much appreciated.

Don't do it man, step away from the credit card and just walk away. Walk away...

Seriously though, other than it being new and kinda different...why do you want it? The whole pod thing would be tedious and butane? meh.

I'm just kidding, go ahead and have some fun playing with a new toy if you can. Hopefully it's not as disappointing as it looks like it's going to be.

Seems like it will be modded into something more usefull over the next couple months, but right now, I don't think its worth the effort, too expensive. 6$ for 12 pods, each lasting 5-10 mins each= 1-2 hours per 6$= too expensive for my blood. However in the near future expect interesting mods using this product or concept.

Are they taking orders yet? I thought I was on the list but maybe not.

My initial email says they will let me know when I can order. My understanding was that this was sometime after November 19. Is that what you got?

No, I haven't heard anything. On the original Ploom thread there is someone who has been able to order, although they wouldn't ship tobacco pods to his location.

Geeker,

I did get an email saying I was on the list but nothing about being able to purchase yet. If I do get anything about purchasing, you're welcome to my spot because I won't be getting one.

quote: "6$ for 12 pods, each lasting 5-10 mins each= 1-2 hours per 6$= too expensive"

only if you are breathing nothing but ploom, no oxygen at all...

do you guys seriously chain vape like that?

you could use the same rationale to say that smoking analogues would cost $60 per day.

each cigarette takes 5 minutes to smoke, so obviously you would need to smoke 12 per hour... and you are awake for 10 hours, so figure on 120 cigarettes, at $10 a pack (here in Chicago) so that's $60 per day...

just my 3 cents

Thank you so much, Beckah! Just holler if/when you get some more info. I think the key is when they offer you a username and password, you're in. I really appreciate it!

Well, my guess with the Ploom here is that its more of a recreational deal than something to support a habbit. E cigs generally just give you a nice does of nicotine and taste similar to a cig (sometimes) but the Ploom appears to be closer to the taste of a good cigarette, if not better, but at a higher expense than a PV. My e-cigs are mostly for me to "smoke" while this seems kinda like something different all together. I wouldn't even put it in the same cattegory as a PV. Just my two cents.

This reminds me of a mini Iolite/I-Inhale. I've heard many good things about them. The only issue was the constant need to buy butane. From what I understand they run out fairly quickly. The Iolite seems like it would contain much more butane than The Ploom, so I'm assuming the Ploom would run out even quicker. Also, most users of the Iolite are vaping other things, which would be vaped less frequently (for most people).

I've heard these vape plant matter much better than battery operated vapes. They're also the best portable vaporizers (again, not the ones for e-liquid, but for plant matter).

I would wait and see what other people have to say before purchasing. I do like the fact that it does use actual tobacco instead of juices. My only concern would be the taste and all the extra chemicals in tobacco. I tried vaping tobacco in my Vaporbros Vaporizer about 5 years ago, and found the taste horrible (but I used it straight out of a Marlboro Red). It actually tasted better smoked than vaped. Hopefully these pods contain better tasting stuff.
