I am not well versed on electrical theory and not likely to get so in the near future.

I don't do sub-ohm and have no interest so far.

I use a smok SID device, with the following specs:

4 Amperage output limit
Voltage Control Range: 3.0--6.0 V
Wattage Control Range: 3.0--15.0 watts

I currently have two Panasonic NCR18650B's. One in use and one on charge.

Are there better options for longevity?

Is there any benefit of higher amperage batteries even though I'll not be using higher amp using devices?

I run one all day and usually get it on the charger reading about 3.6. One day, it dropped lower and the SID shut it down.

Is there any harm to the occasional partial charge?

Please share any battery perspective you feel is appropriate or helpful for my circumstances.

Thanks!

Jay

Back in my Vamo and Protank days I bought one to get better battery life. but was very disappointed. The NCR18650B was only slightly better than my crapfire batteries that I got with the Vamo. The 'B' is a protected battery with a CDR of about 6 amps. They will work OK in a Vamo, SID, etc but with the poor showing on battery life I moved on. I've been using the NCR18650PF 2900mah which is unprotected, provides 10 amp CDR and lasts 24hours versus 12hours that the 'B' did.

If your plan is moving up the RTA's and mech mods in the near future you would do well to look for batteries with a CDR of 20 amps or more.

I still use my 'PF's' in my Cana DNA50 mod but I keep my RTA resistance above 2 ohms, so I don't overstress my batteries.

I think the best advice I can give you is to visit this website, Dampfakkus.de and compare various batteries yourself. There is more battery performance data to be had, but this site makes it easy to compare.

For general battery information have a look at this list of links: One Stop Reference Shop For New and Experienced Vapers.

Here is an example of a few batteries compared at the Dampfakkus.de website. All the batts I selected perform almost the same down to 3.3V under load in regulated devices and then things start to change between them. Changing the amp draw on that page changes things a bit too.

If you have any questions about how to interpret the charts, just ask.
