Please, 499 pages is just too much ... Will somebody just cut and dry this for me according to what I'm using .... I have no sensory taste due to a past illness so I only use plain kosher food grade unflavored VG ... no liquid flavorings, no nicotine liquids of any kind. Since I'm certain they cannot outlaw plain vegetable glycerin, that leaves my only fear .... Are we saying they are going to outlaw box mods ? I'll be glad to stockpile box mods to last me for years if that's another concern about these upcoming controls ... can someone enlighten me on the box mods, coils, stick units, and all other units as well ? Thanks, Mike

EVERYTHING regarding e-cigs will be "regulated" if the FDA has their way. The only VG and non-ecig things that will remain will be the ones not advertised towards ecigs, or so it seems.
But you can walk into any drugstore and find USP Glycerin on the shelf in the skin care aisle. I can't imagine they're going to (successfully) regulate that...

@OP: nothing's going to be "outlawed," as in the cops won't come to your house and take it all away, but you might not be able to buy anything new here, come 2018. Best stock up now, just in case.

If tge FDA deeming regulations arent stopped here are the things likely to go away.

Nicotine
Tanks and attys
Coil heads for tanks
Mods
Flavors for ejuice.
EJuice

The following will not go away.

18650 batteries
VG
PG

Some say resistance wire for coils will not go away. They may be right but you can get 500 feet Kanthal for $30. I say get it just in case.

USP Kosher VG in of itself shouldn't be a problem to obtain under current regs as it's available for use in other industries. Mods, attys and factory coil heads will be effected in that no new devices will be allowed on the market after August 2016 unless they first pass the FDA's lengthy and expensive "approval" process. Devices that were on the market prior to August 2016 will remain available for a year or two pending approval of submitted applications.....maybe. Devices that were on the market prior to 2007 will be grandfathered in but considering what little tech was available back then that provision is all but -meaningless-. There is legislation in the works (two separate bills) that seek to soften the dire impacts of the current deeming regs but it's unclear if either will pass.

If this is truly a misguided attempt to "protect" us, then yes, gear will go away and you won't be able to get much of anything we call useful after the deeming date. If it is truly a money grab (tax scheme) then products will return to the market. You have to have items to tax after all.

Not going to sugar coat things. The FDA ruling has the potential to put the majority of businesses out of commission. The only ones left standing will be those with deep pockets. The FDA knows this, too. In fact, they allude to it in the deeming reg itself.

So. Yes. You're screwed.

The FDA's regs are just the first boot to drop but a necessary prerequisite for what comes next. Now that our gear and juice is legally deemed as being "tobacco products" watch what state governments do during the next few years. This is just the beginning.
Thanks to you and everyone else who responded .... Unless I stockpile, all I can think of is a pan of VG on my stovetop ... this will turn my apartment into a 70's disco look but all I'll have to do is walk around with a flashlight and simply inhale (lol)

Factually, you can continue to use what you have.

Should it Fail, you Likely will not be able to replace it.

Support the Cole-Bishop Amendment to Stop the Bleeding until we can get this sorted out!!!
Contact your State Representatives to Congress!!!
Suddenly, being of Senior age has a 'perk' to it ... with specific care and occasional replacements before they disappear, I'll probably be gone before the fan is smeared ...lol

Same boat, one of the perks of being older-n-dirt is that I was easily able to stockpile a "lifetime" supply of stuff, didn't take much. Another advantage of advanced age is having enough experience with government involvement to realize I needed to stockpile. If you hear a knock at the door and hear; "it's the government and we're here to help" the best course of action is to run as fast as you can in the -opposite- direction.... ;)

I understand that there may be challenges to making your own coils and using an RBA but, I wanted to leave this info here for you. There are RBAs out there that are fairly simple to install a coil onto and you could get premade coil/ wick very inexpensive here $3.54 Ready-made Wicks and Wires - NR-R-NR (50-Pack) 50-pack - 2.0ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

If you were able to buy a few bags of those, get a few sturdy box mods and a few RBAs with extra bases, you could vape a very long time only needing to buy VG and batteries.

99% of the vape gear available now will go away

Everything made after 2007 will go away within 2 1/2-3 years unless HR2058 OR The Cole biship ammendment passes.

Sorry Salem YOU DON'T WANT THOSE.

1. The wire us 30 gauge. Ok for rebuilding a Kayfun, RBA of the Subtank Mini. Where yoy trap leads ubder screw heads.

Tge problem is that most RDAs and RTAs havd Post holes where tge end of the screw traps the leads. Tge bottom of the screws will cut this wide easily.

2. This wick is silica. Organic cotton of Rayon wod provide much better flavor.

You arent screwed.

Temp control box mods are also used and currently sold as "Herbal Vaporizers".
Herbal Vaporizers are not regulated by the FDA.
;)
You're welcome.
