Have been smoke free for a month, use joye 510. Mostly 50/50 PG VG. 1month smoke free with 3 ulcers back to back. First I thought its normal as it had been a long time since I had my last one.
Woke up today morning and could not even move my jaw. I was like, oh god don't tell me it's cancer from all those years of smoking has finally caught up to me! Managed to stretch and pull my mouth apart in from of the mirror and a big 1cm ulcer stared back at me from the back of my mouth right above the wisdom tooth!
Nowadays any slight injury and it will turn into an ulcer for sure. And it's an ordeal to even suck on the e-cig today!
Could someone please guide me as to weather PG OR VG is better and some meds for these darn ulcers.
Thanks a lot!

VG is generally what people use who have an allergy to PG. That may be your issue. Also remember that quitting smoking will screw with your mouth. You may experience bleeding gums and all sorts of wonderful things like that. That's common when you quit smoking whether you vape or not. I would suggest switching to 100% VG juices and see if that helps.

I didn't get any reaction till 6 months into it. Freaked me out the same way. I read they are not common in smokers for some reason, maybe the smoke disinfects your mouth or what. When I went to the Dr he told me alum, you can find it in with the spices at the grocery store. Just wet a q-tip and sprinkle some on and pack the ulcer. Stings and tastes like crap but worked for me.

You could try asking a pharmacist if they have any "Orobase" ..... it is a paste, med free, that just acts as a "bandaid" or cover on the ulcer. You can put it on with a Q-tip, and as long as you don't mess with it, ie - your tongue, it stays put pretty well. Rinses off easily with warm water.
Some places carry it, some don't. I have no idea about the Ukraine. If it hurts, try baby teething gel, it numbs stuff up quick.

tobacco is a natural antiseptic but I think thats only if its used externally and not smoked :) Perhaps it subdues certain chemical reactions taking place. All I know is its a small (but painful) price to pay for feeling boatloads better in every other way.

Somewhere in one of these threads, someone suggested that vitamin B12 would help mouth ulcers. I happened to have some here, so I tried it (squirted it under my tongue for a few days), and it did the trick for me.

Also, I think I have narrowed down the trigger for my mouth ulcers to tangy fruit flavored e-juice. Something they add for tartness must cause/irritate ulcers for me. I can feel them start the same day I load a carto full of a juice with an acidy fruit tang to it.

One thing that I noticed that gave me ulcers was big swings in PG/VG ratio. Seems like them I switch to heavy in one direction I get them but for me I get them more on the VG side. before you go crazy also make sure you are not getting juice in your mouth. The nic WILL burn the inside of your mouth so if your getting small amounts and dont realize it you will eventually get mouth sores.

My advice to you before you radically switch juice ratio's is to make sure your not getting juice in your mouth and drink lots of water. It could be as simple as your chain vaping and getting lots of condensation in your mouth out of the drip tip/top of the carto into your mouth which does have nic in it. If you decide to switch I would almost recommend trying a more PG based juice before going to VG.80-20 or 70/30 PG/VG should do the trick and if that doesnt help in a week try it the other way.

I would do everything you can to make sure your not getting juice or to much condensation in your mouth because if thats the case it doesnt matter what the ratio is youll keep getting them. You could also try cutting down your nic level a tad and see if that helps. New vapers tend to first try to smoke a ecig like a reg one and inhale to hard which can lead to bad things. You really need to take slower, longer draws and make sure your not drawing juice into your mouth. Be wary of over filling, etc.

Hope this helps.

Your blend should be fine - you have plenty of VG to buffer irritation (unless you are using extreme nic). Nicotine or a hot drop of liquid is what usually cause a mouth blister or ulcer.

I use cartomizers with a drip tip as a mouthpiece to a. get my mouth further away from potential hot sizzling drops b. bring the vapor into my mouth in a wider stream c. bring the vapor into my mouth past my teeth (not onto my gums)

I always clean up my cartomizers well. After adding juice I touch a bit of soft tissue to the top of the stuffing, tilt open end down, and puff into the threaded end hole to clear the air channel of juice and sop up excess juice. Still, some juice will creep like a coating into the drip tip - I run tissue or a Qtip through the drip tip to dry it.

If you are using citrus, menthol or cinnamon juices (or other spices or pepper) - those can also cause mouth or throat irritation. Cut back on usage of irritating flavors.

Drink plenty of fluids.

If you are using any kind of setup that dumps juice in your mouth or lets you suck juice into your mouth, dump your setup and use something that cannot do that.

I occasionally get a little cold sore, but instead of being on or near my lip, it is inside of my mouth. I have always used hydrogen peroxide to treat them, and it works! Just use a little bit of it, like a mouthwash, or get a q-tip, dampen it with the hydrogen peroxide and apply right on the mouth sore. I wouldn't drink it but it's ok to if you swallow a little of it. Hydrogen peroxide is also good to swish with regularly in small amounts to brighten your teeth!! And it works too! I haven't done it in a long time but I was thinking of doing it again. Swish with it once in the morning, once at night, every day for several days or weeks and your teeth will be whiter! But as for cold sores that are in the mouth, it will help them go away faster than on their own, and help relieve the pain a little too. Doesn't taste pleasant though.
