First, here is my E-pipe, and the cartos associated with it...ePipe (DSE 618) - Electronic Pipe | The Highest Quality and Beautiful ePipe available on the Market! Tank ePipe

ePipe DSE618 Replacement Cartomizers for Tank Style DSE618 Electronic ePipe

There is no indication of the ohm rating, and it is a single hole type.

So here is the issue. It's hard to draw a smoke from, which I can live with. But, it seems that I often get a burnt taste from it. Not like I burned the coil, I've done that by accident on a buddy's mod.:p The taste isn't always there, primarily after putting in a fresh battery. But it's enough to put me off of the carto.

The pipe is automatic, and has no adjustment for voltage/wattage. So what can I do? I've wondered if punching a second hole might help. And yes, I prime the heck out of it when I fill it.

Can anyone help?

You can control the heat to the carto as much as any VV device by using your thumb...just let go of the dang fire button... When you take a draw, start with a couple small starter puffs, without firing the button at all. This will draw a bit of liquid into the carto, then fire the button 1/2 second before starting a long gentle draw. Half way through, let go of the button briefly and repress it, letting go again just before you finish. You can vary the time you press or not, pulsing the button to control the heat, on a fresh battery, less "on" time, as it wears down maybe a bit longer on, shorter pause.

You are doing the same thing with your thumb as the electronics does, just a bit slower...:) Sounds complicated but with a little practice it becomes second nature. You adjust the firing time depending on what you're tasting, instant feedback loop...

You might want to try enlarging the existing hole with the carto punch first. It should enlarge the hole easier and with less "crushing" than punching another hole. Less chance of flooding too IMO.

Since this is a pipe style and the tank is laying more horizontal, hole orientation might be part of the problem. Unless its completely full, the hole might not be in the juice all the time. You might want to screw one into the pipe and see where the hole is located. Facing down into the most juice will likely give more wicking. If thats the case, mark the carto and try adding the extra hole there and as small as possible.

Due to the stem shape, it is almost vertical when I'm smoking it. I will look at enlarging the hole in the next one.

In the mean time, I'm also thinking it might be my favorite flavor juice. It's a bit thicker than the previous flavors that I've tried. So, I went ahead and filled it up with the thinner liquids, and I think that will help. I may just have to enjoy my go-to flavor in my Kanger.
