Please help a newbie with a tank

I just got a SMOKtech eGo 2.5nl DCT tank. In the little bag w/ the tank was a silicon o-ring or cap or something. It fits in the end of the cartridge and it has a concave side and a flat side. What is this for?

If I know what you're talking about (which I'm not fully sure I do), it could be to prevent leaking.

Does it fit as a replacement for a hard plastic cap on the tank? If so, try it. It leaks less than the hard plastic originals.

I think that it fits into the cartomizer under the drip tip on top of the fill. It looks like a cap but there is no flange on it so it slips down further into the end. Thanks for the replies.

The one from Totally Wicked comes with one as well on their site it says this:
Insert the provided silicone seal* flat side up into the cartomizer, replace the drip tip and your DCT is fully primed and ready to be fitted to the battery.
It also says it is to prevent the filling material from drying out.
