thanks for the reply Robert. is it possible to just swap out my RM2 with one already drilled out and with the holes lined up straighter? I still have to send back the Grand tomorrow anyways so I can easily just put the RM2 in there with it. one of the things that drew me to the reos / rm2's is everyone talks about how easy they are to use. I'd really rather not have to mod any of this stuff if it's not a problem.

I do think it's the RM2. put it on a provari and it read the ohms and fired.put on the cap and error message. if the hole size on that post is "normal," does the rotation and height of the hole look right? I don't understand what the reasoning would be from the manufacturer to make the holes different sizes or to skew them like it is on mine. so nothing in my build looks faulty then?

Your caps causing a short somewhere. At this point I'd try doing another coil focusing on keeping the wire from making any possible contact or even getting close to the cap. The new RM2's are coming drilled now. It's gotta be a short, just not sure based on the pics where. Either way keep all wire away from cap.

If I had a spate spring, I'd gladly send it to you.

Bummer that you've got this amazing hardware but aren't able to use it.

Once everything is sorted, your patience will be rewarded.

much appreciated!! :) I really hope I can get things sorted. just got a teaser of what this thing can do test firing. I've read it over and over but was still surprised as hell how small all this hardware is in real life!! I guess watching so many YT videos with super closeups makes your brain think these things are larger than they are, but when I saw how tight the space is I tried really hard to keep the coil tidy. just waiting for Robert now. :)

thanks a lot Robert!! I sent you an email this morning and didn't see this until now. I sent the original Grand with the crooked threads and the atty to you already, it's already left. :( I didn't think that there was anything wrong with the new Grand so I didn't send it. if you think there may be something wrong with it, I'll have to mail that separately tomorrow, please let me know. if I could just get a couple of extra springs for it, I really suspect the problem was more with the RM2 because the Grand test fired great with the RM2's cap off but you know better than I do!! :) I'll follow-up with another email with you when I get home from work since I didn't get a chance to put a note with all the information you requested with the box. thanks again Robert!!

I sent my latest RM2 back to have it drilled. I could just change the way i make my coils - but i have -err- about 14 RM2s and so i didn't want to.

I posted/mailed it to Rob on the 19th and enclosed return postage because i am polite! I got it back today (25th), and he'd returned the stamps i sent too. None of which would be exceptional until you realise i am in Texas and he is in Maine.

The point of all this is a big thanks to Rob and to inform everyone that his dedication to making his customers happy is exemplary. Too bad for me he never took up dentistry or car mechanic classes. ;)

Mr. T- i suspect you already either regret saying that, or regret not including an "also" somewhere in there :)

well hot damn!! after a rocky start, I got my replacement spring from Robert, thanks Robert!! :) also sent me a new button just in case I need it, and I just ended up ordering a new RM2 just to hurry things along while I wait for the original RM2 to get drilled out. got all the new gear in, put in the spring, wrapped up another 1.0 oHm coil and this time heaven!! fantastic vape with the Grand and the RM2!! I still have to get used to the new form factor as I've been using tube mods until now. and not really sure how often to squonk or whatever you call it. I think I may be overdoing it right now cuz I'm paranoid of burning up the cotton wick I have in there but so far, I'm loving this setup!!

Robert, please send me an email when my original RM2 is finished and on it's way back to me. I really appreciate all of your help as well as all the friendly folks on this forum!! :)
