REO adds thread?

lol I used to do allot of Photoshop work and car show photography several years ago. Rob's REO gave me incentive to play as I vape:D

For not much more than the cost of a multimeter, you could buy a cheap vv tube mod like a Vamo. It has the capability to check resistance, check battery life, and it could serve as a backup device as well. Either way, you should have some way to check the resistance of your builds before putting them on the REO - without it, you're flying blind. A regulated device will refuse to fire it and/or give you an error message if you built a short into it or the rba itself is defective/broken - the REO will simply collapse the spring, as it's designed and intended.

It's about like trying to fix a car by replacing every part in the engine until you find the defective one vs. using an OBD reader which will usually pinpoint the problem immediately. Both ways will work (eventually) and both ways will require some cash outlay, but one is a lot more frustrating and labor intensive. You can keep building blind and replacing springs over and over until you figure out what the issue is, or you can use a multimeter or regulated device to check them first so you don't keep melting springs.

I have/have had several tube mods, from low to high end, that have digital readouts. I got these to play with even though 99% of my vaping is using REOs since 2010. Given the fact that the square ohm reader is so very hard to get the inexpensive digital readout tube mods are next best thing for convenience. I have the square one which I love and have had for quite some time. Easy to build coils on it. First one I got, way back, was defective, didn't ever get a reply back from supplier, after several contacts, so chucked it and ordered another, so it essentially cost me ~$40. My favorite and easiest to use digital readout tube mod it the Rider Robust because it takes few less button pushes to get the ohm reading. The prices on them range from $3x. US to $49. And, yes, it is a good little device for dripping and testing juices, too. And not very large or bulky.

I agree Cactus. Have a Vamo, which is used for exactly those purposes. And to serve as a backup - don't see that happening!

Don't know where this thread has gone to? Cars, and signatures and nice ones! So, Vapeaddikt, did the rules tell you to take the nice one out? I love cars, as long as they are 4x4 and can go on safari.

Nah I just swapped it w/ the diff sig b/c the size was so small within the limitations it just didn't work well for me. I've got her on a .psd file anyways. I'll reserve her for a future project:D

While I like safari as well....I still find myself using chrome 90% of the time on my macs.

I know some good looking girls that I'm gonna get to let me take some pics of w/ REO's lol...they already think I'm crazy with the way I'm hitting this thing all day. I'll talk them into it lol.

Great news, Canonikon. So pleased your problem has been sorted. Yeah, show us some pictures. And do invest in an RM2, much more forgiving.

Oh wow, we got Reos vapers from South Africa, crazy, we're world-wide.

I've been to Cape Town in South Africa, friggin awesome ! Wish I could move there.

Yip, 3 Reo households down here. 4th shipping. Cape Town some 120 kms (74 miles) from our little village. Glad you enjoyed CT.
