Sorry - I'm sure I'm going over old ground, but pretty confused by all the information out there.

I got my first e cigarette 5 days ago (an Eroll by joyetech) and have already gone through 2 atomizers (very strong burning taste after 2 days use and yes, I primed them by putting 2 drops of liquid on ).....
It may be that up until now I've been smoking my e cig too much like a regular cigarette and that I need to leave more time between draws?
Obviously I can't afford to buy a new atomizer every 2 days so am a bit worried - this is my new favourite hobby and I have successfully stayed off the analog cigs! I have tried to clean them both by boiling in water, but when I tried one of them I still got a very strong burnt taste (should I have tried a few more draws to see if the taste went?)

I've ordered a joyetech Ego-C kit as I've read that Erolls aren't really appropriate for daily use, but am worried I'll have the same problem with the Ego-C atomizers as they're both type A atomizers??

Please help! It's driving me insane and I'm just getting more confused by trawling forums etc

Thank you so much for reading xx

There could be many things that cause a burnt taste. If these are the ecigs that punch into a little tank and draw the juice into the coil, it could be that you're having wicking problems. What kind of juice are you using? What's the pg/vg mix? A higher pg amount will allow better wicking but you lose a bit of vapor production. My friend had the original ego and had to adjust the silica in the pointy part that pierces the tank. I think he may have pulled a few stands out. He ruined one trying that though so be careful! It may also be that, like you said, you need to space out your puffs.

You're welcome! Sorry it's taking me so long to reply... Making hot cocoa cupcakes! I don't have a ton of experience with the Joye style atomizers. But inside the pointy part there is a silica wick. That transfers juice to the coil which has silica going through it. If there is a gap between them, it won't work properly because the juice can't get to the coil very well. Let me see if my friend can help me. Also, you need to know what is in your juice. I'd email the vendor and ask for sure.

That would be great thank you :)

I will check with the vendor - I think I've got a lot to learn!

I suppose basic questions are - how to resurrect an atomizer giving off a burnt taste - and reasons why I'm getting that taste after 2 days/ways to prolong usage. And will the Ego-C be any different even though it seems to have the same atomizer?

Again - thank guys. Am checking out that forum thread.

I think with the first atomizer I let the cartridge run dry - but I was careful not to do that with the second atomizer; hence my confusion

Perhaps I didn't prime them properly either - eek! This vaping stuff is pretty complicated, but I really want to stick with it x

p.s nice work on the cupcakes JWbaldy - pass 'em on over!

I have had the eroll for the past few months and the atomizers last a really long time. First of all make sure the tanks never get below 10-15%. Take slow long drags and don't pull it like a cig.

I have had atomizers get burnt tasting on me but it is usually because the the juice did not wick correctly. Put a couple drops on the atomizer. Fill up the tank and attach it. Let it sit a few minutes.

To clean them is easy. Run the atomizer under hot running water for a few minutes and also if it tastes really bad, take a cup of water and put it in the microwave until the water is really hot. Then drop in the atomizer. Let the atomizer sit there for atleast 12 hours. Then rinse under hot water. Let it dry a bit and then put drops on atomizer and get everything attached. Start using. May not give you a lot of vapor at first but it will once the water is completely gone.

Also you can rinse the cone with really hot water too. Sometimes the burnt taste, etc gets stuck in there too.

I don't take these things apart or do any of that crazy stuff. Don't have time for that plus I'm not that handy.. :)

the main problem beginners have with ecigs is their draw in my experience. they tend to draw fast and thus burning the atty/carto. ego-t and ego-t type attys are fiddly in terms of juice thickness. they have many other issues, thats why that system is not used in new devices. so get another type, like a bottom coil kanger or aspire. and draw slowly, fill the mouth with vapor and then inhale.

Thanks for that too - I suspect that's where I may have been going wrong - will know in a couple of days if I haven't burnt out another atty! lol x

I got the Iclear 30 and it seems to get burnt just like all the other wick atties, is there a way to prevent this?

Hi dot1, you might want to start your own thread about this - you'll get many more responses that way. People here think it's all about the eroll and probably won't see your post tucked away.
