I need help asap. I am in tears as I just don't know what to do. I keep getting this awful taste from vaping, it's sort of in my nose as well, it's a chemical horrid acrid taste, I have changed oils, tried different company's. I have renewed the oil barrel (cleartomizer?) sorry not down with the lingo. I have tried about 4 new ones. I am at a loss. I know I may have vapour fatigue, as I can hardly taste any of my old flavours, however why am I tasting a horrible taste? I can understand not tasting anything, but can't understand why everything tastes horrible. I have been vaping for 9 weeks after smoking for 25 years, I was getting on great guns really enjoying it, now I am in tears as I just don't want to start smoking again, but I can't stand the taste I am getting. At the moment I am vaping a mint one as it's the only one that covers up the horrible taste. But not completely. I usually vape sweet stuff, like caramel, blueberry, Amaretto. Help please.

do you have issues with artificial sweeteners? Do you drink diet sodas? If you have an issue with artificial sweeteners that may well be your issue. My vaping went fine for a couple of weeks and then I had similar issues. I started making my own ejuice with no artificial ingredient flavors and using liquid Stevia as a sweetner. All good since then.

If you have no issues with artificial sweeteners then ignore this post.

This horrible chemical taste, was it burnt like taste? Or like some drugs artificial taste? Ppl who smoke analogs long enough will have a rejection from their body after 2-3 weeks of stopping maybe more im not sure, the symptoms usually are dry mouth and shaking pretty badly. But after reading ur food and drinks tastes the same, im pretty sure its not your body, something went wrong on your device, do you have any other friends that vape? Try their vape and please tell us, is it also acrid tasting?

Then it has to be one of two things, or a combo of the two: Yourself and/or the juice. I'm betting it's a combo of the two.
I'm still going with the taste buds thing. Food can still taste the same, but your vape may start tasting differently. When you first started vaping, your taste buds couldn't pick up what you're tasting now. I had this problem early on too. I tried a particular brand of juice, not even cheap stuff, but every flavor had a taste similar to what you describe. I agree with Robert C, something artificial in the juice isn't agreeing with you. You may need to look for a more or all natural juice. I'd point you to some vendors, but I believe you're somewhere in Europe by the name of the vendor you listed.
The other part that could be happening, is that juice steeps over time, and the flavors may have developed into what you don't like right now. One thing you can try is taking the caps off of the juice bottles and let then 'air out' for a while, a day or so, and then try again.

I can tell you this - have patience - the people on this forum will help you through it. When I first started vaping - I was full of questions and problems with juice, PVs, etc. I do not know how many times I thought about whether it was worth it or not, but I can tell you this -

quitting smokes finally was worth it... Over 3 years with no smokes now and enjoying it.

Your battery and tank are straight forward, so unless the battery has malfunctioned, it probably is the juice. I don't think your personal taste is going to swing that much so quickly. Do you have another battery? Having more than one option is always a good idea, especially in the beginning when there will be a lot of trial and error.

Has the transparent / translucent body of your CE4 gone cloudy looking? That would be an indication that one of your flavors has started to destroy the clearo. (Some do, commonly called tank crackers.) Once that happens, the tank is trash as the chemical taste will never go away.

What DavidOck said.
The ce4 are disposable and not meant for long term.
They are not that good at wicking high vg juices.
I once bought 20 for someone and 15 were rubbish , so quality is questionable.
Ask around and many people will suggest better alternatives , or give you advice if you would like to stick with them.

CE4s weren't the greatest, most reliable clearos out there. I'm guessing the new ones you got might've been duds? With your original one (before the new ones), it probably worked great at the beginning, and then over time and use, the coils started getting more and more gunked up, causing an awful acrid, burnt taste. That's when you know it's time to throw it out. Then you switched to the new ones and still got that horrible taste. Yikes! Could just be bad clearos. Also, like others said above, when you fill a clearo, make sure you give it ample time to soak the liquid all the way up to the coil. Once the wick gets scorched on those things, they will forever taste nasty.

Just a suggestion, maybe try a different type of clearomizer before you give it up. I did very well with Kanger Evods and mini ProTank 3s (with eGo-type 650 Spinners and Twists, almost like yours). Nice thing about those is that when the coils get gunked up, you don't throw away the whole clearo - you just unscrew the old head and screw in a new one. A few other brands of clearos have come out since that might be even better - I'm sure others will chime in on that.

Good luck! Hang in there! :)

You may want to look into maybe upgrading to a tank with one that uses replaceable coils. Something like a ProTank 3 can be had for $10 (you will need to get coils, usually $10 for a pack of 5) and if you can afford $30, an iStick 30 would be a good investment. The PT3 is glass, so any juice will be okay and the iStick 30 will give you more control over your vape.

Hi Julia,

It could very well be your taste buds,

But first, you are not alone. Every single one of us that has successfully made the switch has gone through this vapors tongue thing. Every one of us that got through it fought through it, only to find that our taste buds do return and come back much better than before.

Yes, it could very well be your taste buds. In our mouth we only have so many taste buds dedicated to any single flavor. If we overuse these, they wind up dying off and have to get replaced, while they are in the process of being replaced, our mouth tries to make do with the other taste buds available, but they are set up for other flavors. So at some point the mouth gets really confused and things do get really sideways between the brain and the taste buds.

Solutions for this is to try and change flavors, the more radical a change, the better, as you need to use totally different taste buds. Also, you can try eating really spicy food, this is one of my favorite ways to brighten up my buds. Try a menthol juice, while it may take some time to get the aftertaste out of your mouth, it does a good job of renewing the other taste buds.

Lastly, don`t let this get you down. Every vapor that has successfully made the switch has gone through this and pushed through it. I personally thought I was over it a few months ago, but NO, I had a bought of it the other week and just had to get different juices, I had been vaping the same several juices for far too long and the new juices are now fantastic. :?)

Your problem is simple the CE4 as already mentioned is not meant for long term vaping it gets to a point where it tastes horrible and needs to be replaced.
Get a new tank with disposable replacement coils and make sure to change them when they start to taste funky.

You missed the part where they still have the issues with a NEW fresh CE4?
