Let me start off by saying that I am about to go crazy here! LOL. All of my cartomizers keep leaking out of the bottom connection. No matter what tank I use, no matter the liquid I use, it keeps leaking! This has been going on for over 2 months now. I just bought a tank from IBtanked thinking that it will solve my problem, but nope. Still leaking. I have tried different cartomizers, and I keep getting the same result. What is going on here and how in the world do I fix it??

Based on everything that you have done, I have only 2 thoughts.

1. You are initially over filling the cartomizer or . . .

2. You are inadvertently creating pressure imbalance within the tank.

How many holes do your cartos have and what ratio liquid are you using?

My cartos only leak out the bottom when they are getting near to needing to be replaced, after I've run 20-30+ ml through them in most cases. If they're otherwise still performing well, just leaking a bit, I'll put a sealed 510-510 connector on them and keep on vaping. I use pyrex tanks, mostly Phiniacs, but also a no-name from my local store and have no leaking issues normally. Ibtankeds should be the same; I hear they're quality tanks and I plan on getting a few at some point. Cheers!

They're usually 2 holes. I have used both boge and smoktech with the same result. As far as the over filling initially, I only put about 20 to 30 drops. I use different ratios, 50/50 and 30/70 are the usual ones. I'm starting to think that tanks are just to much of a hassle. I love the taste from them, but I hate carrying a paper towel around all the time. I will look into an adapter just so I don't mess up my pv.

Two questions:

1 - Are you filling the tanks with the top cap off? What is your current method of filling the tanks?

2 - What is your vaping techique? Are you a hard chain vapor?

Filling a tank with the top cap off is a risky situation. Once you add the top cap, the increased sudden pressure within the tank causes too much juice to enter the cartomizer and floods it. It has no where else to go but into the air tube and out the connector, and once the normal fluid barrier has been breached, the carto is doomed to continue leaking in this manner.

Puffing too hard on a cartotank will cause too much juice to enter the carto, also. A gentle, sustained, deliberate draw of 3 - 6 seconds works best. Think sucking on a straw in a thick milkshake.

Since this is happening in a variety of tanks and different brands of cartomizers, the problem is user error. Click on the link below my avatar under blog entries. The second article is on cartotank setup, with step by step instructions on how I personally set up my tanks, including a couple of videos that demonstrate these techniques.

Hmm. Never had carto tanks leak...with out it being my fault while loading it. (The glorious juice dump)

Do you load the cartos in to the tank with a tank filling tool or a drip tip on it, so it protects the orings?

I have had a little bit of juice leak on to the center pin that needs wiped off when my tank gets too low on an old carto.
Are these pre punched Cartos? Could you be punching through too far?

Humorously and no offense intended, I'm with Baditude and fear there may be a Circuit that is shorted between the carto tank and your chair :D

LOL You two are funny. I know it must be me. I fill it up with the top caps on with a tool. (SYM tool). I think it may have to do with my draws. Who knows, but one thing I do know is that I refuse to give up. I love my new IBtanked tank way too much to just toss it aside. I have seen your blogs before Bad, and I do have to say thanks a ton for the info (mostly the one about where to buy cartomizers ;-) ) I will check out the videos and see if maybe I think I am filling them up right when I'm really doing it wrong. (I am always right haha.) Thanks both of you!

Are you using flanged cartos? That's what I usually use, but recently got some unflanged ones. I haven't had a leaking problem once they are in the tank, but they are driving me nuts trying to get them aligned correctly when inserting them and not pulling them out too far when i try to remove the tank tool after filling. I have dumped two tanks of juice in my lap and won't be buying anymore of them. They do work okay with my tank that has a side fill screw (since I don't have to push the cartos down to refill), but not with my IBTanks.

I know you're an experienced vaper, so you may have tried this, but I found that I can make small adjustments on unflanged by gently turning the tank side to side as I'm going up and down. Sort of like screwing and unscrewing.
