The stress and withdrawels may kill him as fast as the nic would.

ummm...no.

Again. This is medical fact. I see that my advice is not popular here so I'm just going to let it go. Hopefully the op sees my post and takes it seriously. He really should talk to a doctor about his father continuing to use nicotine at this point. It is very dangerous. I'm out.

Okay guys, it's a 510 and he uses carts with it. I have a bunch of sealed pre filled ones Imma send in case the filler is burnt in the ones he's got. He likes coffee juices and has a sweet tooth so we'll be sending a few different juices. If anyone doesn't get through to him and wants to send I have an address. boB

well i might b fixin to find out as they're local, plus i have trouble keeping myself on e-cigs as i don't have a CC and rely on trades and some ppl helping me out. so i understand how it could be - especially since now TW in FL has become the NAPA of e-cig supplies ie. "we can order it and have it in tomorrow" - NAPA irritates me w/ that stuff too.

In a world of disbelife I have to ask How did his dad support his smoking habit before the e cigs? E liquid is at least 1/3 the price of cigarettes! I really don't mean to offend anyone but does anybody know this person?

TBH...I ask the same question everytime I see one ( or three) of these posts....and in this instance I'm even more wary seeing it from a member who signs up. make four or five "Yeah, I think that too" posts and then more or less spams multiple threads with the same request.

Call me "gunshy" from the earlier days of ECF.

Hope they're willing to find the time to meet with DC.

Flame away :)

Wow, Firhill & Bigham1.. you guys are being incredibly ignorant with posts criticizing/doubting me. I'm sure there are dishonest people on this forum, as there are in all facets of life, however Did you ever take into consideration that my dad indeed has numerous medical bills now including the EMS ride to the hospital, his surgery, and aftercare. And that is not even taking into consideration the fact that he is going to absolutely have to figure out a way in order to fork out enough money to begin physical rehab after another 3 weeks.
Thanks to zbasspro who has made a commitment to help. My dad seems weary, however I know he will have a huge smile on his face as soon as he is vaping again. It's going to feel incredible to see him with a smile on his face, as well as not have to worry about him sneaking in cigarettes or bumming them from our neighbor who doesn't ever seem to turn him down.

ETA: Zookeepa, my sincere apologies also for the addition of the "Flame Away" at the end of my original post. That was directed at other members (and in no way intended to discredit you) as almost everyone in this forum has a soft spot( to a fault even) for less fortunate posters.

I read your response:

1) It seems believable.
2) I suggest you meet up with DemonCowboy and take him up on his offer.
3) I hope your Dad gets better.
4) I don't need a spellcheck to find the spelling of wary but apparently you do as you seem to think it should be spelled weary.
5) I'm not indigent (i.e. needy; poor; impoverished). FWIW your Dad is a perfect example of an indigent person.
6) I suggest you nominate your Dad for some free juice in the thread Jules started.
7) I apologise if I have offended you.

from my dealings with firhill he is a good guy and willing to help out, hes been a ton of help to me.

wasn't there someone bsing about their husband being injured and they became unemployed and people sent them a bunch of stuff including new e cig kits and it turned out it was just some con artist. the issue is that thezookeepa only has 9 or so posts, has only been a member since september, and has already asked for free liquid etc. Regardless of the situation, are we allowing random people to show up in the forums, that may have been vaping for a few days to get free liquid? I understand that we should help others that are in dire need, but none of us received similar treatment when we first started vaping.

My say is, if you really want to help this person (lets hope they're actually in need), send out the juices that you KNOW you will not vape. Don't send kits (i'm a little suspicious cuz they mentioned the battery, as if hinting to send them batteries as well). IMO its like giving someone-in-need a sandwich as opposed to $10 where they might spend it on alcohol. This way, you'll be sending out something that would've sat forever, and the only risk would be the $2 for shipping

Zoo - I'm sure, at the moment, that you are very stressed out and worried about your father. And with most people in this type of situation, you say things in the heat of the moment. I know that you didn't mean this, and will post here and make things right with these 2 members.

I also know, that you can understand, that what was said, wasn't an attack on you. They expressed a concern. You see, people here on ECF give and give and give and sometimes, people, take and take and take. I'm sure that they were concerned because you are fairly new with only 9 posts, and the only information that your profile gives is your age: 22.

I know that you and the 2 members will work things out and it will be fine.

Locking so folks can calm down.

This is suppose to be a place to help each other out, not bash each other.

I agree Rose. I think that you were right to lock the thread before it became explosive.

In life there are givers and takers. If I gave out to 20 people, (and this is NOT a reflection on Zoo) and found that out of the 20 only 2 truly needed help, I would be very cautious of giving in the future.

There are no hard and fast rules that can apply to this situation or any future situations of this nature. It will resolve on it's own. Givers will become more cautious in giving, those in need will be a little more thoughtful in expressing their needs. Each will find a way to work things out and connect to each other.

I believe that is the best that we can hope for and the least that we should expect.

JMHO.
Peace

Nicely put Rose!

Look, we can never really know who we are sending stuff too...and thats the risk we are taking each and everytime we PIF.
It's a matter of risk.....if you can help say 2 people who really needs it for every one who doesnt. (and I believe the really need it higher then that)

Would you still help?

It doesn't really make a difference for our purposes but I do need to say that machoman is correct. The cardiologist is warning off cigarettes strictly due to the nicotine in them. Since the OP's father has had more than one heart attack he'll be on the typical AMA approved heart meds which is a beta blocker like lopressor, an ace inhibitor such as altace, an antiplatelet aggregate such as baby aspirin, plavix or coumadin and a hemoglobin coenzyme a reductace inhibitor like zocor. Stabilizing and controlling blood pressure and maintaining cardiac output at an adequate amount while reducing workload of the heart is his concern. Nicotine makes maintaining that difficult. From a strictly medical standpoint, this person should probably be receiving slow release NRT like a patch that's gradually reduced to 0 nic. From a practical standpoint, NRT weaning with 0 nic juice as needed/desired will probably be the easiest route. I'm pretty happy with how my vanilla/tiramisu juice tastes and my straight up strawberry tastes so if the OP can pm me an address and a desired nic level, percent pg to vg I can mix them up a little something something.

I will say it again,if it were my father and he were that poor and ill,I would give him my brand new ego and TV liquids and suffer a bit myself.I saw you trading 10ml at a time in another thread. Why would you do that if your dad needs it so bad?I just dont understand?Im stepping out of this.I think its wrong to ask us when your vaping TV on an ego and not helping him yourself. Then someone said there were posts edited.Im out.
