Hi Zer0xity: Let me chime in here.......for 7 months I vaped V4L batteries, and they are good. For the last month, I switched to ego (both regular and XL) for the longer battery life. I am much happier with the quality of the ego, and the taste of the Boge cartos I vape with it. It is still a two piece system, just as easy to use, and much less time spent charging the 808 Vapor4Life batteries. In my opinion the ego system is superior......especially when traveling. And very light weight and fits in the hand well.

Okay so based on what I've read, I think I'll go with a KR8081-D setup. What's the advantage of manual over automatic? Do KR8081-D's come in both? I'll switch over to manual if there's a good enough reason to do so.

Manual batteries are sealed and have a push button, sealed batteries are better since they don't limit your draw and you don't have to worry about juice leaking into them and killing them.

They do come in both auto and manual batteries. The newer auto batteries (Bloog, VOLT, V4Lmf to name a few) are said to have a much faster response on the switch ("no primer puff needed"). They are regulated at 3.6v output, so they won't have initial higher voltage of the older 808 batteries.

FWIW- I have only used the newer 808 styles, not the older ones.

On the GLV Website for the GLV 2, the available options are 510 style, 801 style (adapted), and 901 style (adapted). Does the 801 style (adapted) mean that KR8081-D style cartomizers/atomizers will thread onto it? Here's a question about voltage: what's the advantage of, say, a 5v or 6v over a 3.7v? A more fierce/hot drag?

The 901 style should be the one that fits the 808D-1 threads. I believe the 801 is from a different (penstyle?) model.

As a general rule, higher voltage means hotter vapor and more throat hit. But it also depends one what resistance atty/carto you are using at that higher voltage.

Alright. I'm starting to digress with this GLV 2 stuff. I'll stick with a KR8081-D with a manual battery. I see a starter set on Vapor4Life's website. Customer reviews seem good. Should I just pull the trigger on that? Are they good? I want something soon. Now about the cartomizers/juice: Should I just buy some blank cartomizers from this same site and use some juice to drip/drop or whatever into them or is there a preferred site/company to get blank or empty cartomizers from? Thanks for your help, people...

801 = 801 type atomizer/cartomizers which many of us vets prefer due to the larger coil and with the cartomizers will hold much more liquid. But you can use an adapter ($3) and use any atty/carto you want.

I was the one who recommended the GLV2. I think you would be wise to get the 5 volt GLV2. The vaper is NOT hotter - it is just WARMER, which means it better simulates what you were use to when you smoked. In other words, it better simulates the "inhaled feel" of a cigarette than a smaller 3.7 volt battery is capable of doing.
