Wise choice on the Riva. I just got two kits (dad's bday gift) from EM on Monday and im loving my Riva to death. So's my dad. After 40 years of smoking he stopped completely. And its a good-looking little piece of hardware. Should look nice in white.

Vapor Junction has the Riva on sale for $50...
Just a FYI.
I have used them and Travis is great to work with.

Got word from Travis today that he has ordered more, just PM him on here (his username is DeXteR) or drop them an email and ask that they hold you a white one.

And BTW, the Riva is an excellent choice!

I was so overwhelmed when first finding this forum a week ago, I thought I'd never get it all figured out! But I've done tons of reading here and finally ordered a starter kit today.

The one thing I regret is not realizing that where you order from can make a massive difference in the price. I didn't read that thread until hours after I ordered. Your first response by MistressNomad said:

"I spent $115 total, for a kit, extra battery, extra cartomizers, a charging case, juice, and supplies for making my own DIY juice."

Well, I spent almost $100 today and didn't get near the amount of items. It really does pay to research prices- I never dreamed there would be that much of a cost difference. Live and learn, I suppose!

Good luck!

Don't feel bad. Most all of us made expensive mistakes the first go round. The important thing is that it is good enough quality to get you off tobacco. You will learn more and more every day. Before you know it you will be an expert! (whether you want to be or not:)

BTW- Another lesson that I learned the hard way is that just because a product carries a certain name doesn't mean it is the true brand name. Cost is not the only consideration. Stick with the suppliers on this forum and you will do OK.

Forget it! Just think how much you'd have spent if you were still smoking - and how quickly you'll get that money back by not smoking.

Even if you'd paid twice as much.... if it gets you off cigs, it's worth it, right?

you cannot even put a price on pulmonary health. to not be oxygen dependent, have stage IV lung cancer, or be on a ventilator for COPD exacerbation.
i enjoy vaping so much that even if it cost me 10 times the annual cost of analog smoking, i would do it.

The real key for new buyers is "don't over-invest." As you explore, you will change your mind.

All stock items are disposable -- batteries, atomizers, cartridges, cartomizers, liquid. You need at least 2 batteries (1 to vape while the other one is charging) and 3 or more atomizers/cartomizers. One might be DOA or last only a few weeks. You need to have a couple to use while you are waiting for new supplies.

If you buy a 510, you can try KR808 cartos on it if you buy the right adapter or vice versa. There are now cartomizers for 510s (and I've started seeing ones for 801s.) So you're not going to make mistake if you buy either (but, if you go with the 510 I'd suggest an Ego or a Hello. They both have 510 threading but much longer-lived batteries.)

My current vape is a Little Chuck with a 510 connection for the battery with 510 cartomizers (the ones with soft tops which can be removed) and a drip tip. But I still use atomizers for dripping sometimes. And I have a cupboard full of things I tried along the way to get to this point. They all get used every now and then and the batteries stay charged just in case there's ever a blackout.
