Well while I would recommend you know what, in this case I'd say give dripping a try. You can get a cheap dripper like an Igo-W and as long as your resistance is high enough the MVP should fire it. See if that works for you. I know dripping was the step I needed to be forever done with stinkies. Then I got lazy and went the Reo route :D

Going from an iClear 30 to a REO is a big step in all directions. Sometimes you get flavor blind... You get used to the delivery system, your tongue gets used to the liquid or simply you're tired from vaping too much.

Your increase in liquid intake speaks you're not getting enough nic. Maybe step down from 18 a little bit slower, downgrading your liquid to 16 and 14 in previous steps. When you double your vaping is because your body is not getting enough nic.

Then, when you've solved the nic problem, it's the delivery problem. Get first a dripping atty and learn to make coils. Dripping for a few hours might get your need for better flavor. A great starter dripping atty is the iGo L, cheap and easy to build. if you build a 1,5 ohm coil you can use it into your MVP directly with 24 mg juice when you get the craves.

Once you get used to a dripping atty, maybe going to a double coil, and like it and don't mind the hassle, get a REO. Going straight from one end to the other won't solve all of your problems, it might add to them. Baby steps in vaping, taste is subjective.

*Sigh*

OK, I've been thinking this way for a few days, so I decided to come to The Family for some help/advice.

I am just not happy or satisfied with my vaping lately. A few of my thoughts:

1. I'm vaping about twice as much as I normally do. I use an MVP 2 with an iClear 30. I used to vape 3 ml a day (in other words, a whole tank) and now I'm vaping 6 ml a day. It just doesn't seem like I get enough nic/flavor...or something. I usually hover right around 7.0 watts to 8.0 watts.

2. I have a lot of different types of juices I'm using, and I try to rotate them so that I'm hitting different taste buds. These are the juices I have:
Gravity (just finished this morning)
Home Slice (vaping now)
CoolCumber Mint
Frenilla
CB
CLS
B Puddin
Grap3 Ap3
Band Camp
Doodle

...all in 12mg. I've been using 12mg for a few months now, and I lowered it down to 12mg because my body told me to. 18mg was just a little too much after a while.

Vapers tongue really isn't an issue because I can taste everything just fine. Maybe I need some combination suggestions for some new yumminess? I just don't know. I only know that it's frustrating to not be satisfied. I'm hoping to place an order for some new stuff tomorrow, and maybe another order on Tuesday once we see what the new release is.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If it hasn't been said before, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! ;)

I was nervous about the same things you are and the learning curve with the Reo was a few hours at most and then I was completely comfortable with it.

I have clearos, I 30, I 16, T3s, and 4 or 5 RDA's, along with 4 tube mods 2 of which are authentics, eGo's, a ProVari, and an SID. The eGos, clearos, tanks, and SID are all put away for emergency use only and haven't been touched since I got my 2 Reos, I still use the ProVari every day and am forcing myself to use the Stingray, but the other mods have not been touched since I got the Reos.

Truth is no juice tastes as good or is as satisfying in any of them as it is in the Reo's

At this point I feel that the 2 authentic mods are collector items to be played with from time to time and the Provari I use with a Trident clone for now to vape juices I want to switch between often. I keep Wakonda in the Reo Grand and usually switch the flavor in the Reo Mini between several flavors when the bottle is empty, I have about 3 flavors in rotation in the mini.

If I hadn't been so stubborn about not liking box mods or so nervous about squonking I could have saved myself at least $500. If not for the FDA deeming looming I would be PIFing all of the tanks and clearos and eGos along with the extra heads for them, and selling the Nemesis clone, and a few of the attys, possibly even the low number authentic CV1 Virtus.

Coil building is so easy for the RM2 and Cyclones that go on the Reos, even I can do it in minutes and I'm old with poor eyesight and shaky hands. It just takes a little practice. There are people here who would probaby build you a few and send them to you so you could get comfortable with just installing them and wicking, once you do that a few times then the actual wrapping is a snap. Be sure to get an ohm meter though because it is vitally important to know the resistance of the coil to be safe, and you need a way to know how much voltage is left in your batteries so you don't run them too low. I have an Xtar VP1 charger that shows that with a digital readout, but in the Reo mini with a .6 ohm coil an AW 18490 lasts as long as a bottle of juice in it does, so change the battery when you refill. Same with the Reo Grand AW 18650 or Sony VTC5 lasts until you need a refill of juice.

The Reos also have a spring that collapses if the battery gets too hot so that is some protection.

Now about the juice tasting meh, that will happen from time to time no matter what you do, it is just a fact of life when vaping, it happens to me too but the longer I vape the less often it happens. I just pop a Zots in my mouth and that helps, taste buds are constantly being replaced and I think sometimes in that process juice just doesn't pop as much.

I absolutely knew that was going to be one suggestion, and to be honest...the thought of a REO makes me nervous. I don't know why. I've never seen one in person, I'm not sure about the whole squonking thing...

I know you're probably right. If I did decide to do that, I'd have to save up money for sure. The local B&M near me is doing a free coil building class on Saturday and I'm thinking about going. I have never built my own coils before (obviously) but maybe it's something I should learn to do...

I was so nervous about a Reo I spent $145 on a mechanical mod and atty. flavor was better but I couldn't handle the direct lung hits very well. 2 weeks later I bought my first Reo. 2 weeks after that I bought my second. I get better flavor out of a Nautilus but it doesn't compare to the Reo. You can buy a coil builder puck at vapeworld that makes could building easy peasy. Needless today the mech is in a drawer now.

while you are saving up.. go to that class on Saturday to learn to wrap coils and battery safety.. buy a cheap plastic bolt $15 Mechanical mod and a $10 clone dripping atty.. get your tools , cotton , A1 Kanthal, ETC... and start building.. start with 3 mg Juice trust me... you can always move up.. I am a 18mg-24mg all day long in a tank or carto.. But Dripping i am at a 6-12mg..

I am suggesting this because you need to make sure this is what you want.. I am also getting a REO next week on payday.. but i have already spent entirely to much money to come to this conclusion...we are all trying to save you that money..

@fairtradesloth Thank you so much for your help. I might just take you up on that conversation sometime soon. I'll plan on going to the class this Saturday. This might just be the answer I was looking for. I just need to get over my "fear."

All kidding aside, I hope you took no serious offence.

Building coils is actually very easy, and for those who like to collect gadgets there are a few coil building tools out there that can support the need for tools.

Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

The link above will also work on a smart phone and takes the guesswork out of coil building from a numbers prospective.

As for tools, you'll want a few things to get you started, a set of round rods (little screwdrivers work great) or music wire if you feel the need to have many more options, a small torch (a gas burner on your range will work), a pair of tweezers or small pliers, some nail clippers or nice wire snips, and a ohm reader (your mod can do the job).

Supplies, kanthal a1 in the range of 28 to 30g will work for your needs most likely. A bag of organic cotton balls.

You can do this.

I went from clearomizers to the mvp with iclear16b and aspire nautilu, to a cloupor dna 30 box mod with an igo w and magma rda...then picked up a kfl + to make use of my mvp...id say go to the class to get a feel for how coil wrapping is done, get some tips and get over the illusion of its difficulty- there is a learning curve though, just like on a bike...maybe try out the aspire nautilus mini or some of the newer style coils, if you don't wanna get into that route...I'm pretty happy with where I'm at now with dripping with my dna30 and rdas when I have time at home or just picking up the kayfun and mvp when I don't feel like it, and when I'm gonna need something ultra portable for a few short hours I use my old clearomizers (kanger t2s). My rdas calm every craving I have and I get more than enough flavor/nic...I was at 12mg and had to drop to 6mg......problem is, they aren't idealy portable for me..which is why I got a kayfun, but it makes my mvp almost unportable because of its size... I'm probably gonna buy a reo within the next week, if not today lol...just more vaping pleasure, portability, and reliability... to me it seems like tanks are a good idea, but are more of a pain...

Have you mixed any of the flavors you currently have? Frenilla is good with just about every Nicoticket offering. I love the Doodle/Frenilla combo. Band Camp would be great with Frenilla. Play around with combos of your CB and CLS too. B Puddin sounds good with CB, imo.

And, yes, looking into a different topper besides the iClear would make a difference for sure.

Edit to add: You can always use something like a Cisco LR306 on a Reo but if you did that, I believe you would want the standard cup Reo (not the LP version). I actually keep an LR306 in the car just in case I have an issue with my atty and don't have time to mess with it.

I've added Frenilla to Band Camp, which was absolutely wonderful. Then I tried CLS with some Frenilla, which seemed to make it into an exquisite CB. Maybe I'll go for some Frenilla with BP when I'm finished with the HS I'm vaping now.

For some reason, I feel like things would change if I were to have some Strawnilla right about now.

...ahem...:)

Doh! While reading this thread, I just tried to squonk my Hanna!

A quick check of the bottom of the page shows that the family is out in full force to help out with this one.

You are in good hands ncolwell....;)

There's a reason I posted here and not in the "general" forum. This place is awesome. You guys are all hilarious (Maurice), helpful, caring...this is the best place on this site to get advice. I'm convinced. Thanks so much for your help, everyone. I know I'll get through this. One thing I do know...I certainly won't be going back to analogs. Four months free from a life of being a secret smoker. No thank you. I don't ever want to go through that again.

I really do disagree about the baby steps, but that's of course why the forums are so awesome - she asks a question, gets a lot of different answers and opinions and can think for herself. But, I utterly fail to see how skipping the in-beweens would cause problems per se, given the REO is so easy to use and work with and has a ceramic base which eliminates one way of shorting out your coil.

That said, if an in-between is cheap so she can see what dripping is like, go for it, but I didn't ever drip before and will never touch a standard dripper. no reason to now that I've got a REO.

not at all arguing or even debating your advice or anybody else's - just tossing in another 2 cents about the skipping to a REO causing hassle. I don't think that's true.

edit - if she gets that igo thing you mention, she can go a little lower than 1.5 ohm as an MVP2 will work at 1 ohm and above. just fyi OP if you go that route but want a lower resistance (I find that 1.2-1.6 ohms are my favorite so far)
