So I need help, not a miracle. I have been reading and reading and reading, but have not found quite what I want in the discussions. I have been using ecigs for 2 years, and I am the most boring user. I started with 510, dripped for a while , used a LR boge for a while, then switched to an echo and echoe about a year ago.I only use menthol or menthol tobacco juices. But the flavor is muted, and I want to do better. So, Given that I am not buying a provari or a Darwin, I have narrowed it down to the following common choices: Twist, Ovale, Lava Mini, Apollo V tube.
I don't need bells and whistles, but I do want it to be reliable and simple. I don't want to do math, I just want to find a sweet spot for a particular juice/cart/tank and leave it there. I am never going to be buying a meter. I am not a geek, but thank God you guys are out there to help.
And then, someone can help me choose a cart/tank (but that is a different forum)
thanks

If it's simple you want you can't go wrong with this, SmokTek "SmokBox VariCool" - Custom variable volt Box Mod - Efficient switching regulator! adjustable 3,4,5,6.5 volt's & everything between..

I would also suggest if your menthol flavor is muted in any way you should switch back to atty's. I have been vaping DeKang menthol for 90% of my vaping time and found for me, any carto I tried muted my flavor so much I almost went back to analogs. I use Cisco spec LR306 atty's almost exclusively because for me I get the best vapor and the taste is very clean and fresh. You might also want to re-think your position on a multi-meter as well. It is a very important tool to have if you are stepping up to any APV with removable batteries. The one I use is from RTD vapes and is very inexpensive and easy to use and read. They have very competitive prices on all battery and charger needs out there.

If you are pretty much sold on the list you provided, definitely go with the Twist. Buy 2. I believe one of the cheapest out there would be AltSmoke.com at $22. I mentioned in another thread that there is a new video review of the Bauway CE4+ clearos here Bauway CE4+ Clearomizer They are only like $3 a piece and appear to work pretty well for a disposable. You can find them here Happy eSmoker

As far as diminished flavor goes, what juice are you using? If you're sticking with just a couple, there are more refined juices available. Just curious.

I had not seen this choice in my various cruising around. I would guess you have one? Why do you like it? It looks like it will run around $80 for the box, 4 batteries and the charger. Looks like it would take care of me though.
Ah attys. puff, drip, puff, drip. I still have some LR 306. The flavor was good, but that's Kind of a pain.why I switched to the echo.

I have been looking at the ce4s and the EMDCC. Have you tried both?
As to juice. Currently going back and forth between Johnson creek tundra, Joogler juice smooth menthol or Xeado (new). Believe me when I say I have tried many, cheap and pricy. I also have a red oak Tennessee tobacco and plain nic. to use if I think I need more of a kick and I don't want to toss my purchase. When I first started I did a coop of flavors, and I have a drawer full. Somehow the fruit, coffee, chocolate, cinnamon just did not cut it. I smoked menthol for 30+ years, and that is where I am stuck I guess.

Although I haven't tried the CE4s yet, I have tried the megas. I would stay away from anything DC with these, because like what Jermania describes, the battery life will go down a lot quicker. They will work though. That's the beauty of the clearos, only one coil.

Have you tried any menthol additives to add to the juices you have? I'm not an expert at all with menthol as I don't vape it, but what are you looking for in the menthol? The cooling effect or the actual taste? Are you happy with the menthol taste you are getting? If so, there are additives that can enhance the 'cooling' sensation. http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-supp...ves-c-43_51/koolada-cooling-select-size-p-803

good to know. I don't know if I want the extra length though (so that means I would have to buy two)

I have a 650 Twist, and the battery life isnt very good. I use it along side a standard ego 650, and the standard lasts alot longer, but considering the Twist is operating at a higher voltage, that makes sense. If I were you I would go with the larger battery size, or you will need to be switching/charging batteries constantly.

Out of the devices you are considering I would recomend a couple Ego Twists. I am a Provari user but ordered a twist a few weeks ago to try. I love it. I went with the 1000Mah and am getting 12hours of bat time. I am using the Pheonix bottomcoil carto from Gotvapes with my twist and have been very happy. The only drawback with the carto is it has to be filled using a syringe. One comes with the cartos.

As far as juice, I have looked for tobacco juice for a couple years and never found one I really liked until nitelightvapor.com Gold and or their Bounty Hunter. The only negative thing about NLV is you have to follow the forum to see when they will be taking orders. They sell out in a few hours, but its worth the hassle. You can get a 130ml for $40. The 10ml bottle is only 3.50. Good Luck.

If you haven't already, check this thread out. I'm fairly new, but these people are hard core tobacco. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-liquid-discussion/274904-natural-tobaccos.html

Exactly, I didnt want to carry around a big awkward device either, and this set up is working well for me. Actually I rarely feel need to increase voltage, but having a Twist I can if I choose to. If you have similar wants and needs, you may want to buy a standard as your secondary for it's battery life, and dependability. Not that the twist isn't dependable, but I havent had mine long enough to say. With any mechanical device it seems inevitable, the more parts the more problems.

Ack...I feel like I have been doing this for hours. (my ocd streak is coming out) Looked at videos, more forum posts.
So the twist: simple, relatively cheap,
Ovale: hard hitting, might be a bit flimsy, no votes on the apollo, and the box mod is intriguing . The last three seem to run about 50-70. So I am still on the fence, but will probably get the twist for now. If I hate it, I am sure someone will buy it from me. Question for the twist users, what charger would I need. I have a basic ego/riva charger (who knows exactly what it is) will that do, or do I have to have something specific for the Ego-C?

I have seen suggestions about the kanger clearomizer and EMDCC . The atomizers need to be refilled too frequently for me to mess about with. Any other ideas?

Hey girl, good to see you back!

I haven't tried but heard good things about the twist and you can use it as a pass through in your car. I'm not much into menthol tobaccos but I do like Seattle from Vapor Station, it's a good combo and good throat hit, I've gone through mine or I'd send you some.

Also found sale info for them that starts midnite tonite & runs til Wed:

15% off 30ml bottles starting Sunday!
The sale will last from Sunday to Wednesday.
Discount code will save you 15%.
Please spread the word, this is a good chance for a lot of you to save, and for those on the fence about trying our highly regarded tobacco blends to try them out at a bargain!
The code will apply for up to 5 bottles, and can be used for twice per customer if done so before Wednesday at midnight.
So, it can be applied for up to 10 bottles total per customer.
Sampler packs will also be $3.00 off for the duration of the sale.
Discount code: ecf15off
(Note: Discount code is inactive until Sunday at 12:01 AM CST)

ummm I hate to be in disagreement, but the twist doesnt have pass through capability. The bottom is fixed/sealed due to it being the dial to set the voltage. A universal ego/echo/riva 510 charger will be needed. I use Vision LR clearomizers with mine, which old approx. 1.5 ml, and are super easy to fill, maintain, and they are durable. Since you are a girl, I thought I should mention the new Ego Q batteries that I believe are only available through Health Cabin. They are super girly, and I bought one for my sister and she loved it. It is available as a passthrough, but not as a Twist yet. You should check it ou, and I'm sure it wont be long until they make the Twist model. No one can keep these in stock.

Ah attys. puff, drip, puff, drip. I still have some LR 306. The flavor was good, but that's Kind of a pain.why I switched to the echo.

I don't own one but have the small 3.7V 2AA box from SmokTec and it works very good. I can conceal it in the palm of my hand and the Evercool unit is just a little bigger, (3AAA box). I am looking to purchase one of these in the near future though. I have read a lot of positive things about it on the forum. The Evercool units are a very good buy. If you don't want to use atty's this time around, you might want to check out some eGo clearomizers. I have heard some positive things about those and they will fit this unit with an adaptor. Here is a breakdown....

SmokTek "SmokBox VariCool" - Custom variable volt Box Mod - Efficient switching regulator! adjustable 3,4,5,6.5 volt's & everything between. $54.95 -5% with ECF5 = $52.20
Smoktek Vision Clearomizer Tip - Round tip - Works on all Vision eGo/vGo/Echo clearomizers. $1.69ea -5% with ECF5 = $1.61
AW IMR 14500 $6.49ea -5% with ECF5 = $24.66
Ultrafire WF-188 Lithium Battery Charger $16.20 -5% with ECF5 = $15.39
510 to ego Adaptor $3.99ea -5% with ECF5 = $3.79

Grand total $97.65 + shipping

One last thought, if you choose to go with the eGo Twist you might want to check out this site....Mike & Carol's Internet Store
He is the cheapest online right now as I have found. the 650mah is $20.99 and the 1000mah is $24.99 each. This is where I buy my DeKang Menthol from also. He is cheapest for 30ml and shipping, (not to mention the fastest), I get my shipments in 2 days from New Hampshire to California.
