I am really trying and wanting to understand how some ppl are able to throw analogs down while others cannot. I am on of those who was able to quit the analogs when I started vaping with no problem; good, great, grand, wonderful (note the sarcasm). But, my husband is one of those who keeps turning back to analogs. Please help me understand this. It can't be just a nicotine addiction, can it? Does this mean that I wasn't as addicted as he is?

V4L's highest nic level available is 36mg. I think I've read somewhere that the lethal dose is 44mg; someone correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I bought him a pk of 36mg of the Smilin Menthol and he complained of a burning throat (but, he did have a cold or the onset of one) so I cut it a tad with some VG. He said it was much better. A few days later, I set him up with some 24mg menthol sampler pk. He doesn't complain of a burning throat but now says he isn't getting anything, they aren't doing the trick for him. Well, now he's over his cold but hasn't tried the 36's again yet.

Before, during and after his cold, he was bouncing back to analogs. Seems to me that if the 36mg cartos were bothering his throat then analogs would do the same if it was a cold that he had, correct?

Could it be that it wasn't nicotine alone that he has an addiction to or could his addiction be more psychological? He says he wants to quit completely and wishes that he could and I really want to help him accomplish this.

Even the experts don't fully understand the smoking addiction. Still studying it...

I'm still hitting analogs about three a day and I am vaping 36 and 47. However....I didn't intend to stop smoking. If I really put my mind to it and was willing to vape constantly, I probably could. Instead...I will continue with my few analogs until I damn good and ready to quit completely. Likely will just happen on its own. In the meantime....I am already winning big IMO. :)

My boyfriend is having problems kicking the analogs because he has not found a PV that gives him enough of a burning throat hit.

There's a mod out there with 2 attys on a big honkin battery mod (I don't recall the name of it off the top of my head). I also see a lot of good reviews of the Chuck and the GG.

It could be about getting enough "smoke" to make him feel like he's really inhaling something - at least that's my boyfriend's issues.

Could also be about the liquid that your husband is using. Some folks say that the VG based liquids kick out more vapor - you may want to try different liquids, stronger flavored tobacco or menthol liquids...experiment.. and don't give up :)

Mike (my hubby) has been smoking since he was 12, he is 64 now, so 52 years! In the past he has quit smoking..for a day or a week but then something, anything really sends him back to ciagettes. When we got our first e-cigs..901's, it took me a week, but I quit. He has never been able to. He has tried 901's my mini pipe and of course VK's in 36, 24 and 0 nic. The 0 nic was his effort to quit with patches and 0 nic Cowboy. He refuses to try any other flavor and uses about 1 cart a week. I charge the batts just because..not because they need it but just in case.
He is old enough to know his own mind. If pills, gum and patches don't work or E-cigs...then it's just his mind set. The damage is done anyway..now it's a matter of holding back the tide of symptoms. I encourage and keep the VK's filled but in the end, it's up to him.

All you can do is be encouraging. When and if he is ready..he will do it!

You know the funny thing? he always vapes when we are around other vapers..he is supporting ME! LOL

Well I am going to jump in because this seems like a general question anyone can answer...

The fact is you gotta want it first, and you gotta want it on your own.

NO matter how great it seems to us (vapers) and no matter if we quit completely right off the bat (me) or smoke much less because of vaping..

Some will NOT be satisfied with the vaping experience... not because they don't have the right product... and not because they don't have the right nic level (even though it does take some to find the right product)

As close as this is to smoking IT IS NOT smoking... and Some can not or are not ready for an alternative... It is the honest truth... I have introduced people to ecigs and I have many models (2pc and 3pc) many nic levels (0-48) and tons of flavors... I try to start people off with what I feel as right and then adjust from there.... BUT I know people that just are not ready for the leap.. no matter how small...

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:

Like with many new things whether diets, workouts, spirituality, and vaping,,, it is common for a person to get excited when something works for them and want to share it with the world..... TOTALLY understandable

Its just that the hard thing to grasp, especially when excited, is that not everyone is going to share that view... or experience the same excitement.

Be patient., offer the help, info. and product,, and having it available my be all that is needed.. for that one person (especially loved ones) to make that leap...

I'm thinking these two quotes is what's really going on. He says he wants to quit cigarettes and wishes he could, but the reality could be that he isn't ready to let go or have the will power.

Perhaps I should just buy carto pks in different flavors and strengths till we hit that magic combination. I know he will vape whatever is available while he's in the house. His cravings are mostly at work, after he eats, or during times are great nervousness or stress. Any other time, he is vaping.

I have to agree that if vaping wont get someone to quit smoking then they just dont want to quit. I got a 510 kit for my father in law and he was excited about it , then just went back to cigarettes after a few days. Fact is Its EASIER to smoke, just buy a pack and light one up, no cart mods, leaking atomizers, recharging batteries and PCC`s, some people just dont care to invest the time and effort it takes....period. For me I just couldnt breathe anymore and vaping is the answer, I dont plan on quitting this either I just dont mind investing the time to continue where I absolutely LOVE vaping way more than dirty cigarettes.

This is me. I have fallen in love with vaping. I love the flavors and the colors. I especially love the fact that my kids aren't around all the smoke anymore.
