Hi, guys.

I'm looking to buy an ecig but you probably already know how confusing starting out may be. It'll probably be quite lengthy so you can also scroll down for a short version of the story.

First of all, I need to choose between a simple ecig and a PV. I'm kind of leaning towards an ecig.

I was in my local shop and all tehy had was PV. They are all huge compared to my 10motives ecig. And basicaly, to carry it around I prefer for it to be like a real cigarette size-wise. Plus, I'm not too excited about "5x push safety lock" each PV has (each?or is it a good thing?). And I kind of like those charging packs that you put your ecig. But somehow, I can't make up my mind completely because by reading the forum most of you seem to lean towards PV because they are customizeable, have replaceable parts (and maybe cheaper?) (Is there something else).

Brand-wise I have been looking at what my local shops can offer (because I can acctually touch before I buy) but prices differ a lot so I would probably think about shipping ($25 worth PV is worth $68 in my local shop). And in total I'd be happy to start out for $30-$40.

What have i foudn so far:
• EGo-Mini Vivi Nova (similar to Ego-mini CE4) but has an option to change atomizers. My local shop has one for $25 with 650mAh battery (no juice). (travel kit in local shop is $44). However, online I've found for $70..
• Joytech ERoll seems like a mini cig. Has a carrying pack, changeable atomizers. 1000 mAh battery. Sells for $75 locally but I've found for $25 online (can this be true?).
• (searching though forums a lot of you recommend EVOD kits, so here is one). Ego-EVOD - 2 batteries, 10ml liquid, carrying bag, 2 atomizers - $47 in my local shop. I've found online (1 battery though) for $25.

And yes, I know the price online will increase due to shipping but I use it just as a guideline for now.

So, short version:
• Ecigs or PV? does PV always win? (i'm looking for something like a cigarette size-wise) + doesn't 5 button safety lock bother you after a while?
• I gave my three choices Ego-mini Vivi Nova, eRoll and eGO EVOD (due to they are avaiable in my local shop) but any ideas in the price range up to $40 are welcome.

I'm just so confused and really want to kick the old habit but I really want to make the right decision.

Thank you in advance :)

Won't see a cowboy with a PV dangling from his lip :)

Largely depends on your current smoking habits. To replace the occasional analog, these smallish lookalikes could do.

But if you're smoking regular or even heavy, chances are that you wade through these lookalikes at an insane rate which makes it pretty epxensive in the long run. That's the trade off for light weight and similar look and feel : smallish batteries with limited endurance and small atomizers.

Decent starter kit will last you for a while. Battery life , refillable - your costs will be limited to liquid and the occasional replacement of the coil head, unless you get bitten by the 'I-want-it-now-and-I-want-it-all'-bug :)

Vivi Nova or Evod , basically a coinflip. Or get them both :)

I haven't been using e-cigs long, but can tell you that in just a few months, I have progressed from an Njoy to a Provari. The lack of variety, the expense over time, the short longevity of small cartridges have all resulted in my finally asking my hubby for a Provari for Christmas. I'm loving it, although like each step prior, there is a learning curve. Try an Ego type for a while and you might just find that like me and many others, you just want more.

Evod kit will be your best choice out of those. Balance of size and power plus the evod tank it a great vape. Cig like pen styles are just too weak unless you smoked ultra lights or some capri's.

Well, I smoke regularlly, 15 cigs a day, usually super lights.

I' have 10 motives so average (16mg) seems fine to me but is a bit too strong for my wife (who hopefully will also kick cigarettes soon enough) .

Like Frank stated the lock is a safety feature that you need to initialize. It is very handy for times when you don't want the device to fire, like in your pocket.

Many of us like the size of the small cigalikes when we first start, however many of those models try to lock you into their equipment, which normally is over priced and under performing. Of those of us who do start with the cigalikes, most of us move on rather quickly.

Some of the reasons so many veterans recommend 510/ego threaded devices, like the Ego and beyond.
1. Much cheaper in the long run. You can buy your supplies from a multitude of B&Ms and online vendors
2. Better experience, the battery actually has a usable charge that won't run out in 45 minutes.
3. Once you get started, if you are like many of us you will want to try many different juices and toppers, and not be limited to one companies offerings.

The cigalike types work for some, but for most of us who tried them, the main thing we learn from them is we should have started with something with a better battery life that allows us the freedom to shop where we want for good quality and lower priced consumables.

Look at this and compare what you get

Kanger eVod Kit - Stainless

Excellent supplier and you will recieve it in 3 days.

Nice kit JeremyR, and I have used DiscountVapers a few times. The kit even comes with the much needed replacement heads. Like you stated, DiscountVapers is a top notch vendor.

PS OP, read Eric's reviews at the bottom of the page, he gives his honest opinion. Browse the site, lots of nice stuff.

Hi, I definitely agree with everyone here in that The Evod starter kit is the way to go. Please, just get the brand name for your first go. . Kanger Evod starter kit.
The link to Discount Vapor is a genuine kit and the only thing you would need is juice. You also get the replacement heads which you do need.
This is an excellent starter kit. . And it's a great online store.
I wish they had this when I started! It's a great vape, easy peazy and great flavor. I use this when I'm out and about.
I wish you the best of luck!!
Happy vaping!

You will want 2 bats and evods... As well as heads.. If your b&m is comparable for that price it's pretty good deal for a b&m. I wonder if the b&m is using generic batteries? Dv also has other colors I like stainless because there's not paint to wear off.
what are generic batteries? to be honest, they don't even write anything specific just "2 batteries included".

Thanks, are there any other brand names except ego-evod and kanger evod worth looking at? Is it because quality and vape is so much different?

What about places like ebay?

OK. after googling for an hour I either find respectable companies that don't ship to European Union or some share eshops that i wouldn't trust $5.

So,it kind of leaves me with Ego Evod in my local shop. Should I go for it or is it that worse?
Also, e-liquids. Do they differ in brands, ect. or are they all pretty much the same?
