I will try and be as specific as possible here so bare with me
I am new to DIY liquid and made a few batches in the last week with horrible results
The flavor and Nicotine level is spot on but after just a few hits I am getting an AWEFUL burning metallic taste

I have tried the juice in 3 different types of tanks, on multiple batteries, and low to high voltage levels. I have even gone through 14 wicks hoping that was the issue.

My mixture was as follows ( keep in mind I have done soooo many different flavor combinations that I could not list them all and they all produce the same result this is just a few )
- All purchased from Wizard labs
For a 5 ml bottle at 6mg Nicotine
12mg 100% VG Nicotine - 2.5ml
PG - 2ml
Flavoring ( Orange Cream ) - .5ml

Or

12mg 100% VG Nicotine - 2.5ml
PG - 1ml
VG - 1ml
Flavoring - .5ml

and endless combinations like such. I though at first it may be my concentration of VG burning because the Nicotine is 100% VG that did not seem to be the case when I replaced the base to all PG so I wasnt adding extra VG.
I do not add sweetener or dute with any liquid.
I steep for a day or so , and sometimes hot water steep if im impaitent.
I just cant handle the burning taste anymore.
please help I tried to be as specific as possible.

** Just a note- If I dont chain vape the liquid it doesnt seem so bad with first recipe above

What device, ohms of coil, voltage/watts????

Many fruit flavors burn easily, BTW.

Also substituting some water for the PG/VG might help. Like 5% for starters.

Dont know much about the devices, but 2 different eVics and what I think is an MVP.
Wicks anywhere from 1.8-2.8 ohms - I dont build my own coils or anything.
Tried everything from 4-10 watts

Im kinda afraid to add water and ruin my juice completely

i dont see what my steeping would have anything to do with a burnt taste

What would that have to do with a burny taste?
Well u mentioned that it taste burnt after a few hits, so it must be a problem your atomizer. You built them your own? If so that could be the problem, you might be sub-ohming by accident. Does ur vape has a atomizer resistance check cause if it does u want a 1.5-2.0 ohm atomizer

What kind of atomizer or cartomizer are you using? I have heard plenty of people complaining about bad Kanger heads for evods, pro tanks...

I did not build ANYTHING, I buy the wicks for my tanks. I have wicks ranging from 1.8-2.8 ohms. Ive tried them all , and all of them on different devices. I swear its the juice not the hardware. I went out and bought a brand new mvp yesterday because I thought that was the problem. I bought 2 new tanks today hoping that would help too.
Nothing has helped execpt for not adding extra VG to the mix on top of the nicotine base

What ever atomizer comes with the G50 tank ?

Also if it is "creamy" mixes you are doing then steeping might be in order, as these kind of mixes need time. You can try doing a warm water bath, but you do not want them to get over 120 degrees as that will degrade the nicotine. And leave them in a dark cool place with the caps off for a few days. Taking the time to cap them and shake them once or twice a day.

Good Luck!!!:toast:

Metallic taste wouldn't come from juice. To quickly rule out the juice, just get a cheap bottle of over the counter juice and try them on the tank. If that tastes metallic, you can stop mucking with juice. If that doesn't taste metallic, stop mucking with the tank.

First, clean your tank and especially the drip tip. Wash them under warm water with dish soap. Slightest machine oil in the tank or drip tip will leave the metallic taste for long time. Take a few atomizer head and soak them under warm water and let it dry over night. (or use hair dryer to dry faster) Put everything back together and add juice. Start at 3.0v and pulse it few time while puffing. Once you start getting some vapor, raise it to 3.3v and pulse it again. Finally, raise it 3.7v and pulse it again. Once you start to get consistent vapor, fire it normally and take long puffs. Raise/reduce voltage as necessary.

If it is the juice, make a smaller batch of pure VG and pure PG with some flavoring but without nicotine. If both taste metallic, the source is the flavoring. If only one batch taste metallic, the source is the base (VG or PG). If both batch taste fine, the source is the nicotine.

If it tastes good as long as your not chain vaping then what is happening is your not giving the wicks enough time to wick. What I'm saying is your getting dry hits which will taste burnt. Not knowing what atty your using the cure would be to:
1. Add a little distilled water to thin your liquid
2. Prime it by taking draws on the atty once in awhile while not pressing the power button
3. Don't chain vape :D
4. If it's a Protank, take 1 or both flavor wicks out to allow better wicking (that can lead to flooding though)

Hope 1 of these suggestions helps you out :vapor:

Cheers,
Steve
