Well from my experience the flavor needs time to mix and gel with the PG, VG, and nicotine. It is not an exact science by any means. You had said you were doing orange cream for wizard labs, and they have two versions, LA-Loranns, and TFA- The Flavor Apprentice. The TFA has alcohol in it which might need to evaporate some, alcohol will tend to give more throat hit which is what you might be getting as a burnt taste.
Also you might need to vape at less than 4 volts with some flavors.

Hope this helps some!!!

I just dont see how the steeping would affect burning taste? If you could explain it would be greatly appreciated

I also just tried the juice on an iClear 30s Dual Coil with the same result

I can understand the frustration but slow down a bit. Get a bottle of pre-made juice and try it. Figure out which side is causing the problem first. (tank or juice)
Beside, I would highly recommend always having a pair of device/juice that you can depend on. If you get stuck, just take a good vape and relax a bit and go back at it. Otherwise, you might be running out to get some analog.

I have come to the conclusion it is juice. Not the equoptment what so ever.
I can seem to tell if the juice just needs to be thinned or not.
Or maybe just stepped longer.
And I completely understand many of times I have failed and gone back to analogs. Sadly. But my boyfriend is pressuring me so hard to make the perfect juice thats why I seem in such a hurry

If its only your homemade juice tasting burnt. I would try vaping a little PG by itself, if that's not it, try a little VG by itself. If that's still not it, make up some unflavored and try that (PG, VG, and Nic). What I'm saying is eliminate the possibilities. If all that tastes fine, then you know it's in your flavorings (could be using too much, needs to steep, bad batch of flavor, etc)

Cheers,
Steve

It is a wicking issue.

You didn't describe your tank, yu said a g50 whatever that is, but since the higher pg blend has less of a problem when you vape slower, it points to a wicking issue; it tells me that you are using a TOPCOIL with wicks hanging down, and the liquid has to soak the wick and rise up against gravity, and if you are vaping alot because you are experimenting with DIY eliquid, the liquid cannot wick upward against gravity fast enough for you.

Plus I'm guessing you're only partly filling the tank because you are DIY and testing.

Solution:
Before you vape, tilt the tank sideways (aka if it a swirl) to wet the atomiser area.

For DIY testing tasting purposes you should get yourself a dripper.

Vaping straight PG , VG wont hurt me right?

It won't hurt you. That way you can eliminate whether it's you PG, VG, or maybe your Nic (with making the PG, VG, and NIC mix - no flavor) that is giving you the burnt taste. If it all tastes fine, then the only thing left is your flavors (too much, needs steeping, bad batch, etc)

Some people vape, all PG, all VG or a combination.

You have to eliminate possibilities to know what's causing it. That's what I would do. By the way I strictly DIY. I wouldn't suggest you do it if it was going to hurt you.

Cheers,
Steve

I am actually using a bottom coil, so tilting the tank would do nothing for me. And the iClear 30s is a pain in the ... for wicking- but even after dry hitting the shizz out of it and letting it sit I can tell its not a wicking issue.

Steve: Thanks for the input- glad to know it safe to try. Ill give it a test run as soon as I have an avaliable clean tank

When I vaped down to the end of my tank the burning almost seems to taste like its attributed to something extremly sweet. What could this be?

*** it also smells very sweet

shake the tank a few times while vaping. you might be tasting the concentrated flavoring or VG which weren't mixed and floating. Also, coil gets caramelized while burning juice. that could also contribute to that sweet taste which can turn into burn taste fairly quickly. :)

Ah, the iClear 30s.

The atomizer screws at the bottom of the tank.
HOWEVER if you look you can see the wicks; the COIL IS AT THE TOP.

Vaping PG is fine.

Vaping VG usually gets you burnt taste (I believe you get some acrolien if it burns) plus it's gives you a heavy feeling in the lungs.

Good idea to just mix 50/50 plain vg and pg and vape that to test out your hardware.
