Please help with weird taste problem

hey guys, super weird issue here. I have an ipv4s and two arctic sub tanks. I've had them for a couple months. Everything has been going just fine. Then yesterday I cleaned both tanks and changed juices. I put wake n vape in 1 and Charlie's custard in the other - both of which I've vapes before and in fact only had like half a bottle left of each. Well the tank with wake n vape is fine. But the tank with the custard tasted really really bad. Like an airy dry taste so I figured the cool I used was bad or toast - no biggie, I put a new coil in (from a different package of coils). Same problem. Then I washed out the whole tank again and put a third new coil in and yep, still the same problem. I even tried a different juice in that tank the third time and it tastes exactly the same type of awful. My other arctic tastes absolutely fine on my mod (as does my kanger sub mini) so wtf is going on? Three separate coils, 2 different juices and two washes and I can't even taste the juice - just terribleness... Wtf is going on?

Please someone help me cuz if it's not the coil or the juice then I am completely stumped.

Thanks!

Custard can be rough on a tank but not the worst are you steeping tanks in high grain grain alcohol or just a wash out with warm water

Just washing out with warm water. I've been vaping custards for quite a while tho and never had this issue. By the way - using nickel coils .2 if that matters. Also, right before the first time this happened, I had nana cream in that tank from tbd and that tasted fine (and there was custard in there before the nana cream). I am so befuddled by this... Any more ideas?

I don't know much about Nickel coils my self but if you have been vaping custard that long could also be vapers tounge I ran in to my first case just this week and I tried all the cure ally's none of them worked for me I had to put my vaped down most of the day then got off work now and everything taste amazing again

Thx for the replies everyone. Yes it's an arctic and yes I completely disassemble when washing in warm water. Don't really use cleaning solution - have always just used warm water and never had a problem. I mean I could see a ground in taste in the tank tainting a flavor but this is like replacing it... I don't taste the juice at all. It's terrible but not exactly that dry hit taste. How would I know if I'm melting the insulator and how would I be doing that?

I don't vape at extreme temps or watts. Usually do around 420 f and like 25-30 watts give or take.

Melting insulator has a funky taste. I was getting that with SS mesh wicks on a Zen Atty, so pulled the insulators and re-wicked with ReadyxWick. On one of the attys the insulator was stuck in there like it had melted a little, even though it looked ok when I finally got it out. I vape around 8 watts...

Ok so the plot thickens... I put the Charlie's custard in my other arctic with a brand new coil and it still tastes like crap. What in the world is going on? Am I all of a sudden allergic to custard? I tried two different custards - Charlie's and the general - and they both tastes identical... Like crap. And last week I was vaping the general and loving it... What's happening to me??!??!

So its the juice. Ok, are you congested or having seasonal allergies? When I am, sometimes everything tastes bad. And sometimes its just some juices. I had that a couple days ago. Half my juice tasted bad, and half tasted fine.

When did you quit smoking? I had serious vape tongue at about the 2 month mark of being off tobacco. And repeat bouts for the next few months. The bad news is it sucks. The good news is it gets better. And its been a good 10 months now since I've had a bad incident.

Could be a good time to vape things you don't like much instead of wasting your favorite liquids when they aren't tasting good to you anyway.

Melted insulator = burnt delrin, VERY obvious nasty taste. Imagine what burnt plastic tastes like, and that's what it tastes like.

Thanks for the continued tips guys. I quit smoking about 2 months ago. I was vaping last year for about 6 months but fell off and went back to cigs. Now I've been on vaping again for a little under 2 months. I put some unicorn milk in one of my arctics and the first hit or two tasted funky but then it tasted fine after that. So I don't know... Just as an experiment I put some custard in a kanger sub tank and am going to try that in a little bit and see if I taste any difference. Will report back in a few...
