I have a Kbox and a subtank plus. Had the tank for a week and all was fine. However I noticed after that I had to loosen the tank slightly for it to fire up the coil. No biggie for me. Although the problem got worse. It won't fire at all now on either the occ's or the rba. I've cleaned the tank and box several times and nothing. I though their could be water/juice somewhere in their shortening it out but everything is dry. I'm really ...... off because this is the second subtank that's given me this problem. Is this a common fault? If anyone can help me in this matter then please come forward. I'd love to know how to fix it and it's my only tank. I've contacted the place that I ordered it from and I'm just wondering if theirs anything I can do in the meantime. Many thanks

Ok, so is it a fixed 510? If that's the case, you can buy small circuit board spacers at Madvape. One should do it, but they're cheap and easy to lose so get a few. You put it in the mod's 510 and it fills the gap between mod and atty so that you will have the electrical connection.

This used to be a common problem with many mods before adjustable and spring loaded 510s became the norm.

I notice that you stated that you had to loosen the subtank to get it to fire. Seems to me if you have to loosen it, then the last thing you would need is a spacer. You may have a problem of it going in too far. I have had that issue with fixed connectors where the device goes in too far, and causes the center pin to short down in the connector. If loosening it makes it work, I would look down in there first.

It's nothing to do with that I believe, it's not firing when fully tight, it's only firing when it loosened a lot. I've tried trimming the insulator on the tank and still no luck.

Screw the Tank down.
Watch Power indicator.
Press firing button.
Does the Power indicator Flash?

If the indicator flashes 3 times it is reading a short and will Not produce any power(protection)

The top should lift off after removing the (2) upper screws.

*Not spring loaded, but some rebound from silicone insulator under center pin.(like an ego)

Well, you know its a connection problem with the 510 on the kbox. Without having either a kbox or ST, its hard to troubleshoot. Do you or your gf have other attys you can try on your kbox to help narrow down what's going on? It sounds like your tank isn't the problem.

My other suggestion would be to have them look at it at a B&M.

Do you, by any chance have an ego to 510 adaptor you can throw on the kbox to see if that solves it?

So basically what happens is, when I pop the subtank onto the Kbox, tighten it all the way down with either the rba or occ, when I press the fire button it flashes 5 times. I turn it slightly looser and it fires. I've tried with both the subtank plus and nano. The same problem occurs with both. However when I poped my girlfriends ego one tank on their with the 1.0ohm coil, it fires straight away regardless of how tight it is. The same goes with my evod mega tank. The battery is charged and fully compatable. I don't believe that it's the mod that is the problem as the other tanks fire straight away, it's just the subtanks. Which are freakin made for this mod. I don't mind using the 0.5 coils in the ego one tank as its relatively the same but then again, a 1 and a half week shelf life for a £30 tank? Pathetic on kangers side.

Sounds like a 510 connection issue. I don't have a kbox. What kind of 510 does it have? Spring loaded or?

All the 510 parts I've seen so far have silicone rubber insulators/spacers - the 510 LF Vivi-Nova V2 carto has a warning in the instructions that it can short out if over tightened.

I've converted all my batteries to ego, which the 510 carto fits. If the middle contact on the 510 gets pushed over so it touches the internal diameter of the threaded shell, I just push it back to the middle with the point of a pen and don't tighten it so much when I put it back.

Don't know if this will help, but my Subtanks would have similar issues from time to time I was using them. There's a few things that need to be clean and connect for everything to work and found that hand tight is all that is needed, anything tighter may require tool next time you take it apart. Everytime I changed a coil I would take q tip and a little Everclear and clean off every contact an swab out the airflow chamber under the tank. On the weekends when I had time I would dissemble and wash everything. Once I started doing this I never had another problem.
