hi everyone.
Let me first start by saying I'm completely new to all this and am slowly picking it up.

I have no clue about what occ and rba means or even what it does??? I've just purchased the kanger kbox and subtank mini.

Also what juice can I use in this devise, i.e. nicotine free/with nicotine?

What I'm really after is something that I can get a really great taste from, minus the sore/dry throat...
Plus I wouldn't mind blowing out a decent cloud

Thank you

Hello and welcome to the forum @mattyboy643. Glad to have you here!:)

Here's a video on your setup: Kanger Subox Mini Kit
I have no clue about what occ and rba means or even what it does??? I've just purchased the kanger kbox and subtank mini.
OCC = Organic Cotton Coils. The Kanger coils are called OCC coils.
RBA - Rebuildable Atomizer.

The Subox Mini Kit comes with an RBA base. You can use this to rebuild your own coils if you wish instead of buying stock/factory coils.
Also what juice can I use in this devise, i.e. nicotine free/with nicotine?
Juice usually consists of:

1. PG
2. VG
3. Flavorings
4. Nicotine (you can get juice with or without nicotine)

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick.

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Some juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.
What I'm really after is something that I can get a really great taste from, minus the sore/dry throat...
Drink lots of water.

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

1:
(a) occ means organic cotton coil
coils used to come with silica wick, because silica wick does not burn.
the industry realised that a lot of people were saving money by not repeat buying their coils and rewicking them with cotton instead thus extending the life of the coils, so the industry started saving money by just putting cheap cotton instead, and marketing it as 'organic'
that's my take anyway.

it's the squarish looking coil with your subtank mini.

(b) rba is : ReBuildable Atomizer.
that's the roundish looking atomizer head that came with your subtank mini.
it has screw posts where you can fasten down your own coil.
basically you can buy your own 100 foot roll of kanthal and wrap your own coil youself instead of buying new coils heads every month.
basically spend 10 dollars a year instead of a hundred dollars a year on coils.

2:
you can use any juice; but probably look for 3mg if you vape at 30 watts.
10mg if you vape at 10 watts.

take it slow and don't go from one extreme to the other too fast and you should find a sweet spot

Can any of you guys recommend a nice ejuice that give you good vapour and a good flavour minus the dry, harsh throat?
Thanks
If you're getting a dry, harsh throat you may have too much nic or may be sensitive to pg? Do you have a juice you are currently using that is giving you dry/harsh throat?
It's hard to recommend as there are countless juice vendors online. Maybe look for something that is high in vg, like an 80/20 vg/pg ratio. Also the higher the nic level, the more throat hit you will get. On something like a sub tank 3mg nic should be plenty, and I believe someone already mentioned it, but if you didn't previously smoke, then I'd go with 0 nic.

The Sub-Box is not a bad little starter kit, it is very flexible in how you use it.

The Kbox Mini (The Battery and Control Unit) you can expand how your vaping style is, believe it is 40watts max output, so has plenty of power output just starting out and serve you well the next few months if you take care of it. If you haven't yet, get yourself a decent charger (Xtar, Efest LUC, or Nitecore are your best bet intelligent chargers on the market right now) and at least a pair of good batteries (Models to look at - Samsung 25R (green (newer) or pale blue (older), LG HE2 or HE4, LG HB6 or Sony VTC4 (last 2 higher end 30amp maximum Continuous Discharge Rate, the other 3 are 20amp CDR)

The Subtank Mini is an excellent beginner clouding tank which can also expand and grow with you if you progress to more advanced. The OCC factory coil head units that come with it are decent, though the Version 1 OCC heads use a horizontal coil head, if they are the VOCC (Vertical Organic Cotton Coil) heads (coil is mounted Vertically) which have better airflow and can handle higher power. The RBA (Re-Buildable Atomizer head is on the advanced side, involving wrapping, mounting, and wicking your own custom coil into the head, a nice feature for once you "DO" decide to learn rebuilding, allows you to move away from factory coil heads. Suggested liquid blends for the subtank would be 60pg/40vg thinnest to 20pg/80vg thickest. With 3 air flow settings, saying you want to blow clouds set it to the widest setting and leave the other 2 alone.

Juices, whatever flavor appeases you is what works for you. Did not say if you presently use tobacco in any way presently, if you do not, do not get any nicotine in your liquids then (these will be 0% or 0mg Nicotine on their labels)

Welcome to the ECF and many happy vaping days moving forward =)

Well the truth is that I'm completely new to this and just wanted a bit of knowledge to what I'm doing lol
Thanks for the advise and Thank you for your reply
