Please help!!!!

I just got my S6 yesterday and it has only worked for about 10 minutes. I first tried two cr2 protected batteries that were extremely snug but fit and it melted the cover off of both in a few seconds. I then without thinking used an unprotected 14500 batt and it immediately melted it as well. Now nothing works in it, not even my protected 14500 batt. I am so frustrated and I don't know why it isn't working. Do you think I just have a bad batt? Anyone have similar problems? Please help!

batteries are not suppose to melt in the super 6. You need to get in touch with David about this.

Yea, it melted the cover off of them and got extremely hot in just a few seconds. I had a similar issue with my vp2 where the o-ring under the battery connection slipped out of place, but that wouldn't be the issue here.

Protected CR2's do not fit in the Super6, when you put them in, it probably tore the protective layer and caused a short.

It sounds like you don't have the black plastic insulator on the spring any longer. Verify that it is still on there. The bottom of the battery needs to sit on that. The instructions have an exploded view of the parts. Let me see if i can post up a pic for you.

I am using the black stopper on the spring. I'd say you are correct about the cr2's but I'm not sure why my protected 14500 batt isn't working. Do you think I just need a new batt?

Is it old or torn or anything? Sounds like it is shorting out somehow, perhaps just defective (just speculating).

Heres a picture of the main components. It's an ultra simple device, so just make sure it is assembled correctly. Once assembled, the negative end of the battery goes in first and sits on the plastic insulator.

It is an old batt. I am gonna try and get a new one today and see if that fixes the issue. If not I will let you know. Thanks!

You may probably know this but the button travel is slightly longer for protected 14500s vs. 2 CR2s if you haven't adjust it. Have you tried depressing the button all the way?

I have ordered all my batts on-line. In the interest of time do you know if they carry them at like a Radio Shack or something?

Oh, also, make sure you have play/throw in your switch. Add or remove washers to your desire.

lighthound is super fast with their shipping...so is madvapes..

radio shack probably doesnt have them (you could always call and ask tho) there might be one or 2 other places but they're gonna be a pretty penny and them knowing if it's protected is gonna be a crapshoot too..(this is at least my experience, we've got a place here called battery warehouse and they didn't know what I meant by protected and what they did have was totally generics they wanted $11 apiece for)...might check places that would carry higher end flashlights like a gander mountain, or bass pro, or cabellas or military surplus (thats a total crap shoot though)

Yea I got my unprotected from madvapes. I guess I will have to order a few and continue to wait until I can use my S6. I mean it has to be a battery issue. I am using the device properly so I don't see what else it could be since the S6 is purely mechanical.

Here's what I think happened because it just happened to me....... *Pics when i get home*

I use cartomizers. I was putting a new cart on and overtightened it to the adapter which grounded it out. I pushed the button and nothing. I fiddled with the carto and pushed it again, nothing.... Blah blah blah... I noticed the tube was getting hot...
Opened the battery compartment and poured the very hot battery out in my hand and the wrapper had started shrinking back at the bottom which was causing it to short out and further decay the wrapper.

Moral of the story..... The adpater on the S6 is much stronger than the threads in your atty (thank god) and if you overtighten it, it crushes the little rubber piece in the bottom and causes it to short out.....

That's what happened to me just now.. betcha it's the same for GrapeVap...

Wow Brock, that sucks. Did it damage the spring insulator or anything on the S6? Glad you guys caught these things before a battery exploded or something.
