Yes it is to a degree but some people go over board when screwing there atomizer on there mods . There so focust on getting the hole in the zen position they will use vice grips to get it there. I say these things to help avoid problems in the future everyone should have a voltage meter . To me its way easier to leave the atomizer on the mod . If you have a cheap voltage meter buy a better meter . When you put the probes on your atomizer post use a little more pressure you will get a better reading

the wealth of knowledge is amazing... any advice on bs excuses to get out of work to be here when the mailman shows up? i mean the mrs will be home to sign for it... but... want... now... must... have... so hard knowing its been within 25 miles... all... day...

hate sundays so much... (when its not football season)

oooo serious question for the mod master, am i going to need anything else to allow me to add air holes? planning on running a few different ideas on the spare caps...

Well your going to need a drill bit and a drill a drill press would be nicer but not needed with brass

Thanks Rob - trying it now and although it's a little more "effort," it does work. I just hate that my multimeter goes ranging about for minutes at a time while I am patiently trying to hold the leads in a stationary position, keeping constant contact. My hands shake :(
Just think though no juice on your fingers your atty is already in your favorite position . All you need is something to hold your reo stable

When my cap is on tight, its easier to take it off this way. Take your thumbnail and push at the base of the rm2. Don't break your nail or anytging. Just enough pressure to hold it there while you unscrew the top. I have never had a problem doing this even when the cap seems like its welded to the base. Goodluck with it.

Yup. This is exactly what I do. I don't take the base off unless I'm gonna wash it and that's not often. I put my thumbnail against the base and unscrew. Sometimes I put a paper towel between thumbnail and base just for that bit of extra grip. It always works and my base is screwed on fairly tight to get it aligned properly.

This is exactly the problem I was having with my multimeter. It would read ridiculously high or low, then the most minute change of positions, and it would change the reading dramatically. Like 2-3 tenths of an ohm.

Rob, if we're using o-rings, isn't the mod protected because the o-ring is taking the pressure?

Not really. Your applying torque to the threads too.

I add atty air holes using a standard cordless drill, a 5/64th" (1,98 mm) bit, and a center punch to get the hole started. If you are worried about scratching, try taping the area off first to protect the metal from side-swipes.

LOL I have to take mine off with some regularity my friend - I'm coil-happy! Got to build new coils and that means popping that RM2 on the ohm meter. I can't even leave a great coil alone for a week - I'm terrible ;)

I do agree that threaded caps on RDAs are not ideal - I much prefer o-ring style. But I've found that by tightening the atty into the 510 connection with a firm hand, and then screwing on the cap with more of a gentle touch, I usually get the result I want when I go to unscrew anything.

The advantages of using a multimeter to test the resistance. You can be coil happy and still not need to take the rm2 off.

Chipolte? Maybe you ate some bad guac? Spend some time stealth vaping in a stall, then, when you are missed....suggest EVERYONE would benifit from you leaving now or sooner.

Best of luck

I´m not sure... where JBLM is, physically...but I was thinking

But something local that fufills the ¨Intestinal Distress¨ requirments will sell better.

Heck, maybe you ate that tonight... might hit in the morning...before you leave.

Enjoy your day

I just hate that my multimeter goes ranging about for minutes at a time while I am patiently trying to hold the leads in a stationary position, keeping constant contact.

If you have a range hold button on your multimeter (usually just marked "range") you can short the test leads together and then press range at the same time, this will lock the meter into the low ohms range and you will get faster readings. Also helps if you clean the tips of the test leads with scotchbrite or similar and wipe them down. If you want to go further you can sharpen the test lead tips on a fine file or wet and dry sandpaper, they will then easily punch through any oxidisation on the RM2 screws. But be careful of personal injury, the tips can be sharpened to the point of being extremely dangerous, so don't overdo it.

If you want to buy a fast-reading auto-ranging multimeter the cheapest I know of is the Fluke 115 which looks like around $140 in USA. (You can get a Reo for that!) There's probably others but I know those ones do fast readings. Even faster is the older Fluke 11 or Fluke 12 if you can pick one up used. Great little meter, they should never have been discontinued. Here's one here. They go for years, easy to use, accurate, reliable, work great, and you can still get spare parts for them if needed (sound familiar?) :)

I'll try this next time. I didn't realize people go nuts with tightening down their attys. If I can't get the hole to line up right, I've been fine by unscrewing it to the correct position--contact was maintained without a problem.

I guess I didn't think about the threads getting worn down.
