If it were me, and it had to go out for repair, I think the seller needs to contribute to that expense, if not in fact pay the whole thing. Things happen, and you can usually get it to work out.But I definitely would be feeling less than cheery with something like that.

This was from a month ago when I contacted Bill.
Price may vary. He will send you the updated pricing via email. But to give you a rough idea of pricing here it is. I have the PDF which I can email to you if you want.
------------------------------------
Radius

The base service price for any Radius is $35.00 if it has to be disassembled. This will include basic cleaning and bench testing the unit.

If only the contact pin needs replacement - the unit does not have to be disassembled - the base service price is $15.00.

Firmware updates can be done by the customer via USB. The cost for me to do the update only (no disassembly) is $5.00. I will test the device but will not clean or disassemble it. I will notify you if any issues are found.

I'm going to be a bit of a downer here, but if the Radius worked for a month, I don't think you can really put this back on the seller. They sold a used Radius that worked. :(

I will recommend contacting Bill at Provarirepairs. If the mod is still within warranty, he may honor the warranty. If you let him go through the mod and fix everything, you should get back a nearly new mod with updated software and rubber. You problem could be as simple as a bad O-ring. I've bought a few used Provari that had to get a bit of work done on them, and it was worth sending them back. :thumb:

I’m really sorry about your Radius. Mine have never failed that way. My worst “failure” has been when the battery drains and after recharging it with the USB the mod won’t fire until I take it out and reinsert it (kind of a hard reboot).

Check the mod inside to see if the positive plate is in place and use another battery.

I’ve only heard good things about Bill’s service so don’t hesitate on contacting him.

Hope you get your Radius working again.

I just bought this baby and I hope I am missing something because I have no light from it [emoji26] Bought 2nd hand and just changed battery now it won't power up at all. Is there a secret, does it need me to wake it up? Battery is good, radius plays dead. Help me,I am soooo sad after wanting it for so long thinking we would be together a very long time [emoji26]

Sounds like it was working before you removed the battery?

If yes, then something must have happened during the battery swap.

Try removing the battery and looking inside for possible debris that may be preventing the battery for making contact. There was a plastic pull out strip that comes in them when they were shipped, this is a long shot but worth a quick look.

Other possibility is that disturbing the wire may have caused a poor solder joint in the wire to fail, that would need to be repaired by Bill.

Bummer to read this Breezy...

I really hope you can get it sorted out, Breezy. It must be a major disappointment. I will concur with those here stating that if you send it in for repair, it will be like a brand new unit, most likely. I know it's a pain that it is failing NOW but you at least have the option (still) of a comprehensive repair for not too much money, from someone who totally knows what he's doing. I completely understand the finance issues-- perhaps it's worth doing now, though, while you still can, knowing your Radius should be good for years to come, going forward.

(If you can't tell, I'm trying to find the positive somewhere.... and at least repairs are still possible. Maybe you could contact Bill, let him know what happened, and ask him if he'll still be available to do it in a month or two when funds permit....) Sigh. I'm so sorry to hear about this, though.

Fingers crossed, but it sounds still like you may have a non-working mod on your hands.

I had to look but i got this to me on Oct 6th and yes i did expect it to work longer than this. I am not trying to put it on anyone,i was looking for clues that may help me get it on,thats all. It has taken me by surprise though being a provari to go bad in this short of time. Seller has responded and we are talking about this,i hope a fix in some way is coming,if not its my own fault buying second hand without knowing a person or seeing the mod.

when Bill gets back to you with a price ... I'm willing to chip in $10 towards getting this fixed.

maybe we can get this to a manageable option.
