I'm in desperate need of help here. I'm going to try to make this as short as possible...

Around 2 months of experimenting with ecigs and I FINALLY find the right ecig and flavors that made me leave my nasty cigarettes in the trash. I'm currently using a Tornado RCS battery and RCS V3 rebuildable tank. Great vape, consistent vape, and just love the rig but there's a big problem....

Last weekend: I ditched my analog cigs on Friday. I vaped all Friday and Saturday. Loved every minute of it but on Saturday evening my vape started BURNING me. I call my friend that has been vaping since Christmas - he thought maybe I just got a crappy tank, so I ordered a new one. While waiting on the new one to come in I went back to analogs.

This weekend:
Get new battery AND tank on Thursday evening. New battery + new tank = DREAM. I start vaping away and threw my cigarettes away. I was in pure heaven and really thought I found something to get me off of cigarettes FOREVER. Vape all day friday and all day saturday. By Saturday evening my mouth started burning again... Sunday it gets worse until finally Sunday night it's nasty to smoke. I was losing taste in my mouth.

Monday morning:
Wake up and vape... makes me cough and I notice ulcers in my mouth.

Tuesday (today):
Wake up and vape... brutal cough and can't even taste the flavoring. I throw the ecig down and bought a pack of analogs. I get home from work and have 5 new bottles of juice in the mail. I load them up and hope that maybe I had bad juice or something - same thing. Makes me cough, burns my mouth and just hurts to vape.

Things I've tried:
Multiple tanks
Multiple batteries
Multiple brands of liquid (mtbakervapor, local stores, NOLA Vape, Halo, etc)
18MG nicotine and 12MG nicotine.
50/50 blends
Drinking lots of water while vaping

Am I allergic to PG or VG? But if I am would it really have taken a day or 2 before it started giving me reactions? Anyone have any clue what could be wrong? I also noticed that my mouth is incredibly dry, has ulcers now AND my lips are chapped/dry as .....

I want so desperately to be able to vape all day but I just can't. My cigarettes are more disgusting than ever now that i know what it's like to NOT breathe in fire and smoke!! I've spent over $200 on liquids, parts and cigarettes. I just don't know what else to do besides getting a bottle of pure PG and a bottle of pure VG and see which one (if either) that I can smoke like the 50/50 was in the first couple of days of use.

I read that you can get ulcers from stopping analog cigarettes before, but I've quit analogs multiple times throughout the years and never remember this. Doesn't mean that's not what is happening now but it's just a thought. I even have an ulcer on the tip of my tongue as well as throughout my mouth. Smoking an analog cigarette doesn't bother the ulcers or my mouth... how the hell can I VAPE and get my throat/mouth burned and cough like I'm smoking for the first time, but yet smoke an analog cigarette and it not bother me? MIND = BLOWN.

So... if I get pure VG and pure PG tomorrow and both burn me like my 50/50 mixes, what do I do then? Give up and accept being a smoker and going back to other methods of trying to quit (patches, gum, padded white walls, etc?)? My friend told me there's more expensive liquids out there that's distilled water or something. I am feeling pretty beaten up and heartbroken at this point. it's like I saw the light and then BAM it's gone. UGH!

Welcome to the forum. In the beginning there can be some things to go through but you will make it through. Some of these things happen in the beginning. As you make the adjustment to the vapor. Tooth pain can occur too. Due to lack of numbing tobacco smoke.

It sounds like you are possibly sensitive to pg.. It is more drying. i can get Dry lips off pg. Vg reactions are rare. I would shoot for 100% vg or at Least 80. If its too thick for your atomizer you can add a few drips of water and mix... As long as your not getting dry hits this, Would be my suggestion. Oh and I did get some canker sores too they did subside after a month. I quit cigs instantly by choice but some cig through the day probably would have helped.

You may need to start slow with some regular cigaretts mixed in to wean off and adjust. These symptoms will subside. It may even get to a point when you think they won't... And next thing you know They do !

Good luck once you figure out what you need and adjust to the new vapor you'll be off cigarettes. Im confident you can do it, it takes a little time though.

I haven't had the mouth ulcers, so I can't tell you what would help. I do know that what the previous poster says about symptoms being so bad you can't stand it and then they just disappear - I have been having extreme muscle aches for the last several days and could barely get out of bed. Last night I wanted to go back to cigarettes because even the bottoms of my feet hurt. Then this morning I woke up and felt perfectly fine. Except that by this afternoon, I now have skin pain and numbness on the entire left side of my body. My armpit is the worst feeling like a really really bad sunburn. Go figure. But I'm gonna tough it out. Or at least try....

I had ulcers when I first started. My friend/pharmacist recommended getting a vitamin supplement called Lysine & crushing it up mixing it with a little water to create a paste & putting it on the ulcer. It did help! I take the Lysine everyday now with the rest of my vitamins as its good for oral health in general. Hope this helps a little!

Yes I remember the soreness and being able to sleep for 14 hours straight and still feel like I could sleep more. And Its true there will be one day ull notice u feel fine but it will get worse before it gets better. I never had ulcers either that might be something u want to research to see if its normal and or see a doctor and let then know u just switched to vaping it could be a small allergy as someone stated

Like someone above said try a higher VG ejuice AND make sure you are drinking a TON of water. While I smoked I maybe drank 50 oz of water a day and now I must drink 150 oz. Cuts down on lots of potential problems when stopping analogs.

Don't give up, lots of water and try out some different VG/PG mixes until you are good. It is worth the effort for sure!

I may be confused, but do you smell a burnt smell from your tank (I think its more well known as a stardust or Ce4)? Take a look at your coil; remove the mouth piece, take the little silicone cap off of the center tube, is the coil gunked up and black?

Too me it sounds like you have hot vapor coming out form the wick and coil being flooded, this will result in hot vapor, harsh throat hit and weak to little vapor production. Does your tongue feel like its been scalded, like after you have had some really hot coffee or a really hot drink?

YES!!! It tastes EXACTLY like hot vapor a lot of the time, but not always! Like, as soon as it starts entering my mouth it's hot. That's why I started buying new tanks and batteries... which worked, for 2 days then went right back to burning and now it's to the point that I take one hit from my tank and it just makes me cough and burns. However, I have even went so far as to replace a coil today with a brand new one and load brand new juice in it and it STILL does the same thing. All of my tanks and coils right now are less than a week old. The one I replaced today was brand new.

Also, I have tried 2.4 and 1.8 coils as well. I did find that the 1.8 Ohm coils tasted and felt better, but now even the 1.8's are producing the same results.

Oh no, forgot about flooded coil hits. Your main Component of This whole Deal is the coil not tanks or batteries. You will have to learn how to maintain these. If your using stardust type that can Be a very hot vape if something goes wrong. Dry or flooded wet. There is a lot to Learn here. Research your atomizer and learn how wash and dry burn it. .. or Just get an evod they work well and are cheap. Cooler
Vape from the bottom coil.

Ill second the lysine advice. From chimney I used to use that internally and it works. Should have remember that when I was Going through my transition.

The chapped lips is a common sign of moderate dehydration, I drink a half gallon if not more of water a day, I seriously drink nothing but water from the time I wake up till I go to bed. I may have a soda but it's not very often. It is critical that you are drinking enough water, once the dehydration is taken care of the chapped lips will go away, if not, you may need IV fluids. Drinking plenty of water will also help with the dry mouth. Canker sores are common when quitting cigarettes as well, I have 3 as of now. I would also check between PG and VG, try 100% of PG and then switch to 100% VG to rule those out.

Long post sorry.
With the stardust you have to tip them, but if your liquid is thin, like a higher percentage of pg vs vg then it will wick better. Also since its a top coil (the coil is at the top and closer to your mouth) the vapor will be much warmer than with a bottom coil.

What does your coil look like? If its relatively clean then try this.

Try this, don't tilt your ecig and take a vape or two. At first, if its flooded it will still be hot. After you start getting some decent vapor, tilt it just enough to get the wicks wet, untilt it and try another vape. Is it still really hot? What might be happening is your silica wicks are getting "broken in" and are wicking better.

One more question, how full are you filling it? If its all the way full, like above the wicks you will definitely be getting flooded harsh, hot hits. Empty it out till its below the wicks.

If this is the case you can do one of two things.

1 get a higher ohm atty head, like 2.5.
your second choice will involve some needle nose pliers and some brute force finesse (nice oxymoron right?).
If you want to try, take the atty head out of the tank.
Remove the rubber cap.
Take the needle nose pliers, and gently squeeze the sides of the atty head (from the top edge) just a bit at a time until you see the gap get just slightly narrower ---> ( ) <---
reconnect it and try vaping it again. What you are doing is choking the wicks just a bit so they dont feed the coil as fast. If you squeeze too hard you will likely break the metal flanges off and will ruin your atty head, so only do this if you have backups.

If possible post a pic of your atty head so we can see it, the inside of it as well as a pic of the atty head from the side with the rubber cover on it.

I'm about to take pictures and upload now. Hang tight! I think the pics will answer your questions. And as to how far I am filling it up - I'm filling to the top line.

I wouldnt look at the top line when you are filling, I haven't used Ce4's for a while, but the best gauge for filling is a millimeter or two below the opening where the wicks are, that or the joint between the center post and the atty head.
