So sad,
i was born and raised in the woods of NJ
back when there were still woods there and
i walked on layers of history, farmer's fields
atop wagon trails atop the smelting pits of war and
i played in dirt soaked with the blood of patriots...
nobody had to teach me what this country is about because
the ghosts told me, but they didn't say
that it would all be for nothing.
Since my teenage years, (or maybe that's when i noticed),
NJ has been governed by a strange mix of marxism and fascism
and law and order directed by organized crime,
the roads went to hell while the taxes paid
to fill the trunks of cop cars with so much cop stuff
they needed new cop cars cause the old ones were too weighted down to catch anyone,
especially over all those potholes,
not that they'd dare catch anyone but the most petty of criminals
because you better pay attention to who works for whom.
So sad,
but not unexpected.
