1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,
Quit analogs completely, continue to use various mg's of nicotine

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
Started vaping 3 weeks ago.
Quit cold turkey, no success
patches, no success

Gum, no success
Chantix drug, no success
B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
32 years
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
quit analogs same day that I started vaping
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
did not continue analogs
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
I began smoking 36 mg reduced currently to about 12mg, keep interst and satisfaction by adding various flavors to continue lowering nic but believe I will continue to vape nic with flavors as I know that vaping will prevent relapse to analogs

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
I feel I vap less than I used to smoke analogs during the day and busy times as a few hits of vap satisfy me rather than smoking entire analogs.
At times of day when I would chain smoke, I vape frequently but less than the total number of hours that I would chain smoke analogs. The previous periods of chain smoking are now spent vaping and using the forum for interest and support as well as vaping being an interesting hobby and distraction from smoking. I have no interest in smoking despite the number of years smoking and am already reaping the benefits of improved health, lifestyle, and respect of non smokers both in my family and in public. I herespend a lot of time in our family owned deli where numerous cigarette smokers question my change from analogs to vaping and are interested in the alternative to trying to save their lives as both I and my wife have chosen

After over thirty years

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- Not very often

If so,
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome? 31 days ago; patch, gum, wellbutrin, chantix, cold turkey, all FAIL

B. How long had you been smoking analogs? 16 years
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
about 5 days, but thats cause had a full pack of cigarettes I had to get rid of....and couldn't just throw out
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. I started with the 24mg carts that came with and a mix of 24mg juice and 12mg juice. after a few days, i gave away all of my 24mg. it was just too much for me.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise? i vape more simply cause i can. i can do it at work and not get in trouble, i can do it inside my house and pretty much everywhere i go. But I am only a month in, and I have already started cutting back.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- yes If so,
A. When did you start vaping September 30, 2009 3:30 pm MDT and what other cessation methods have you attempted, hypnosis and what was their outcome lasted about a month ?
B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
37 years, steady 1-1/2 packs a day
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
Quit the day I got my PV in the mail
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
Tried twice - on purpose, thinking I must be missing out on something - and couldn't get past the horrible taste after 2-3 drags on an analog. Now they are revolting to me. I have 8 cartons of reservation cigarettes in my fridge that I need to sell or give away.
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. For example, I started with 36MG and in 1 month , I went to 24 MG. Now, I am working myself down to 18 MG because I have primarily been smoking tobacco flavors to make sure that I am not tempted for an analog. ( at least, I figure that I would be a little more grounded with the tobacco flavors at first.)
I also want to lower my nic, not only to get away from nic but, I tried several candy flavorings that tasted bitter because of the nic. I eventually want to go down to 0 nic and especially am looking forward to several candy flavors pure taste rather than being corrupted by the nic juice.
I started with whatever comes in the stock "medium" carts, went to 18mg when refilling them, then to 24mg in hopes of better/stronger flavor. Have a DIY kit on order to hopefully mix a lower mg with more flavor.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
Lighter at work, heavier at home because I use a USB passthrough at my computer and enjoy vaping the various flavors. Overall, I think I ingest less nicotine, can't tell for sure, but I feel healthier, my lung power is amazing, my sense of smell and taste came back in spades - and I never intended to quit. Go figure.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome? I started vaping in July 2008 with about a 3 month period of smoking due to inability to charge the batteries and losing track of my charging system once I was where I could chargge them again (I live in Houston, Tx and was without power for almost 3 weeks after Hurricane Ike in September 2008)
B. How long had you been smoking analogs? I am 37 years old and started smoking when I was 13. At first obviously I would only smoke one when I could sneek one but by the time I had graduated high school I was smoking a pack a day and when I quit I was smoking 2 pks a day.
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs? I have been trying to quit smoking since I was 25. I tried the nicotrol inhaler, I tried patches, bum, nothing worked.
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. I started with 24mg mint and now am down to 12mg (give or take a mg due to I mix my own using 36 mg, vg, and flavor.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?

I vape about like I smoked, which is almost constantly.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine-

I certainly still use nicotine. I'm not sure if I've quit analogs entirely or not. I'm not particularly interested in them as they taste disgusting to me right now, but I still feel a bit of craving for the nastiness from time to time.

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?

I purchased a Smoking Everywhere 2.0 PV about a year ago to supplement my smoking, but I started using the PV to the general exclusion of other nicotine sources as soon as I received my first 510.

In the past I tried:
The patch: This was somewhat effective for a while, but it irritated my skin and was unsatisfying because even though I didn't crave the nicotine, I still wanted the activity of smoking
The gum: Again, somewhat successful until I couldn't stomach the nasty pepper flavor of the nicotine and the rubbery texture that would make my jaw sore from chewing .
The lozenge: Of the NRTs, this worked best, but it was expensive and not completely satisfying. The taste got old rather quick, and I was still missing the activity of smoking.
Hypnotherapy: This worked FANTASTIC...for about 2 weeks. I came out of a group session with a renewed sense of empowerment to overcome the addiction. What worked was the suggestion that the unlit cig he told me to put in my mouth tasted like the first cigarette--and after a good 10 minutes of hypnotic suggestion inspired coughing I did not want another cigarette in much the same way that I now don't want another analog because of the taste... I was able to ride out the cravings over the following few days, but eventually my ADHD got the better of me and I got bored and lit up again and realized that I was again a smoker.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?

15 years ago I considered myself a social smoker. Somewhere along the way I found myself buying a pack every day.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?

Once I got my 510, I stopped smoking analogs almost immediately but I don't like feeling "restricted" so I bought a pack of analogs when I started vaping exclusively and would smoke one every once in a while...finally gave away the last half of the pack when I realized I really didn't like them anymore.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.

Started with "High" carts from SE, but those are only 18mg but I'd mostly been using 24mg juices until I discovered Nhaler's 12mg HV which is what I use most often.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?

I certainly vape more often than I used to smoke, but not as regularly. With analogs, I'd usually start getting irritable after about 2 hours if I didn't smoke. That is usually not a problem since I switched to vapor--I'm more interested in the flavor than the nicotine now.

That said, I use about 1ml of e-liquid through the course of a given day split between 12mg & 24mg....so I get about as much nicotine as a Step 1 nicotine polacrilex patch (21mg), but unlike the patch I don't get painful rashes on my skin and I have something to do with the ADHD inspired boredom. By replacing the physical activity of smoking with "vaping" (with or without nicotine), I am able to take mini mental vacations and calm my ritalin-addled brain long enough to be productive.

All up in your grill..
. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome? I have been using e-cigarette products for about 11 months. I wasn't looking to quit when I found ecigs. I was introduced to them through the store I worked at and quickly realized I preferred them over my previous cigarette of choice. The marlboro mild. I have had no desire to revert to my old brand whatsoever. In my mind this is a better cigarette all around.B. How long had you been smoking analogs? 10 year, 2 pack a day smoker.C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs? The minute I first got the sample ecig my boss sent me, I knew my romance with tobacco was over. that was 11 months ago. Honestly I don't miss it.
2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
I am a bad example here. I work at a kiosk that sells them. Part of of my job is to smoke. I vape far less when I am at home. Lets say that at home my consumption is down approx 30% (from my 10 year 2 pack standard) but at work its up something like 200%. These estimates are based on my understanding of how the cartridge to tobacco cigarette ratio works which is hardly an exact science.

I know thousands of people who use these products. Many of my close friends and relatives use them as well. E-cigarettes have changed my life. I am an advocate to say the least.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- Yes, 18 mg or 12mg
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome? I started vaping this November. Quit cold turkey in October and was looking for something to stop me from going back to analogs. Started with 0 nic, but noticed I wasn't regaining cognitive function (focus and comprehension) so I started using some 18 mg a vender tossed in as a freebie which improved my mental alertness back to "smoking" levels".
B. How long had you been smoking analogs? I started smoking when I was 18, so 12 years.
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs? Had already quit before vaping, but cravings significantly decreased
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. I started off with 0 nic, then went to 18mg to see if it would work on improving mental alertness that was lost after smoking. It worked so now I go between 12 mg and 18 mg, also still using 0mg occasionally. I also like the "throat hit" the 18 mg gives which is very similiar (for me) to analogs

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise? I actually vape much less than I used to smoke. I would smoke every hour, to half hour. But usually vape every couple of hours, unless driving or surfing the internet. But during those activities I use 0 nic as the pv is acting as a pacifier

I hope this helps.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
I started vaping approximately 2 months ago.
I did try to quit smoking analogs twice a long time ago; once through hypnosis and once cold turkey; both attempts were unsuccessful.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
I smoked a 1 1/2 packs a day for 30 years.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
I quit smoking analogs 2 days after I started vaping.
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
I started with a 24mg e liquid and continue to use a 24/36mg e liquid. I do not know if I will start using a lower level of e liquid.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
I believe I vape heavier than I smoked. I believe one reason is because you do not receive as much nicotine per drag by vaping as you did by smoking; and also because I vape inside now compared to smoking outside.

Some

If so,
A. When did you start vaping
June 21 2009

and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
Also tried Lozenges, Patch, Gum, Wellbutrin, Cold Turkey, and Hypnotism. All Failed

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
28 years. 1 to 2 packs per day.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
8 days after the arrival of my 1st e-cigarette and the same day I received my 1st reliable e-cigarette.

(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
I started with 24mg, then moved down to 18mg after a month or so, then started adding PG/VG to cut it even further down. Most of the time, I’m vaping 0mg, and using 3mg in the mornings. Will be at 0mg 100% of the time, before the end of the year.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explanation of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
It is hard to compare, but to start with, I probably vaped heavier than I smoked. It didn’t stink as bad as analogs, so I could do it inside the home/office and no one noticed. I could leave it on the desk and take a puff when I wanted one. On the other hand, when I went outside for an analog, I smoked all of a cigarette and maybe 2, then waited an hour and did the same thing again. Perhaps it wasn’t really any heavier, perhaps it was just more evenly throughout the day.
