1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,

A. When did you start vaping

Oct 2nd, 2009

B. How long had you been smoking analogs

25 years

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)

I bought a canadian pack (25 cigs) the same day I got my ecig. It last me 9 days and I never bought another one.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.

I started at 18mg/ml and got mixed results. Vaping too much in a short time gave me a headache while not vaping made me feel dizzy.

I reduced at 12mg the first week but vaped more. I then reduced at 9 mg but I had carvings so went back to 12. I just went back to 10 for about a week, all is fine.

I realy want to quit nicotine and/but I like vaping a lot.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise.

I vape heavier but only when at home. At work I vape less and I fell better with no carvings: a bit of stealth vaping is enough. At home I find it difficult to stop vaping.

Long vaping sessions are making me eat less and are keeping me awake too long.
I just hope I will be able to reduce those long sessions by keeping me physically occupied, I have to work on it. When I'm busy I have no carvings but when i'm in front of the computer or reading a book ... heavy vaping.

Still, maybe it is not so heavy because I use in average 2ml a day.

A. When did you start vaping about 1 year ago
B. How long had you been smoking analogs 17 years
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)about a month
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. I started with 36mg and dropped down to 24mg after a couple months. Now I hover between 18-24mg. Once I started building my battery mods, I was started dropping my mgs down even further because I was able to get the throat kick I was looking for from a higher voltage. I wouldn't mind dropping down even further but I find I am addicted to the throat kick which requires more nicotine and/or a HV mod.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise. I smoke about a pack a day of Analogs. Now that I've switched over, I vape all day! I would equate it to about 2.5-3 packs of analogs. Why do I do it? Because I can. :D

Now, I am working myself down to 18 MG because I have primarily been smoking tobacco flavors to make sure that I am not tempted for an analog. ( at least, I figure that I would be a little more grounded with the tobacco flavors at first.)36, next order was 18 then 11-8mg but now it varies upon mood/desire. I vape anything btwn 8mg and 24mg
I also want to lower my nic, not only to get away from nic but, I tried several candy flavorings that tasted bitter because of the nic. I eventually want to go down to 0 nic and especially am looking forward to several candy flavors pure taste rather than being corrupted by the nic juice.

Hello everyone,
I would like to thank you again for contributing here and I would like to add that all the detail in your information counts. I value this venture to increase a better understanding from a collective data source to prove the validity of the E-cigarette and the benefits that can be shared with its users. Marginal at best, I am also in the process of detailing potential litigation as civil/class action and mitigating trade and tarriff acts against merchants and means.
I encourage everyone to contact your congressman and senators in your district to address your personal concerns on this ban as well to ensure that we are heard and never fogotten!!

For those of you reading this the first time.. Please fill free to respond to this thread with any useful info pertaining to the questions listed ... and if you have any thing to add.. info that you feel grant just as much validity as the questions asked, include this in a brief footnote at the bottom of your post. I have been getting some good usable detail from everyone and intend to offer my help in any way to keep this ban from any succession.

Thanks again,
Tom

I've been vaping for three weeks analog free the whole time.

I smoked analogs for 14 years.

I have used 24mg exclusively.

Do I chain vape? Yeah, sometimes. Mostly when I'm sitting at the computer. Otherwise, I probably take 10 to 20 good drags per hour which is about the same as smoking analogs.

I have always felt that the other chemicals in cigarettes cause nicotine to more addictive than it is in more purer forms and my experience with vaping seems to back that up. As an example, I still crave nicotine but it isn't something that I have to have right away. As a matter of fact I didn't immediately feel like I needed to vape when I woke up this morning and I don't usually feel like I need to vape after I eat. When I smoked analogs my body just felt like it was screaming for nicotine when I woke up.

Welcome to the forum Nomad!

I also wanted to let you know that you do not need to keep buying carts. It is much cheaper and easier to maintain the e-cigs if you order some juice somewhere and refill your carts yourself. You will be much less likely to run out and have to go back to smokes while you are waiting for more carts.
.

Thanks for the welcome. I switched from carts to refilling about a month ago - it is a much better system, better quality smoke experience as well.

I just wanted to see exactly what frequency of time throughout the day that people that used to smoke heavy... now, vape heavy but,

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so, I use high nic in my carts and have an occasional analog.

A. When did you start vaping I started vaping almost two monts ago.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs Over 20 years

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs
(If you continued after getting your e-cig) I still smoke an occasional analog, maybe a pack a week now down from 1-2 packs a day.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. For example, I started with 36MG and in 1 month , I went to 24 MG. 2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise. I now vape a lot more that I used to smoke. If I have my e-cig in my hand (which is just about all the time) I am hitting it.

Thanks,

WISCONSIN (GO PACK GO!)
1.) Yes, I still use nicotine.
a.) I started vaping 5 weeks ago.
b.) I had been smoking 1 pack/day for over 10 years.
c.) It took me 2 weeks to fully quit once I started vaping. 3-5 analogues/day the first week, 2/day the second week, then it seemed like I just forgot about them!
d.) I started vaping 18mg for a little over a week, but I was still smoking a few analogues/day. Then I tried 24mg and it was just enough, I fully quit within 24 hours of getting the dosage right! Next week is week 6 of vaping and I'll be cutting back down to 18mg, the following week to 14mg, all the way to 0mg. I love vaping though, and have no desire to fully quit although only 0mg liquid!
e.) I used to smoke a pack/day and currently vape less than 1ml of 18-24mg liquid/day. Before I started vaping, I reasearched how much nicotine there really was in my favored brand of cigarettes because I didn't want to increase my nicotine addiction. Anything I was able to find on the nicotine content/pack of cigarettes averaged about 24-28mg/pack. So, I decided early on I would not vape more that 1ml/day. I also believe that the absorption of nicotine from vaping is quite a bit less than that from analogue cigarettes, so I do not vape heavier than I used to smoke. And I also seem to vape less and less every day, like putting my PV down and forgetting about it more and more, or running to the store and leaving it at home. I never would have forgotten to bring a cigarette with me to smoke in the car!

I've tried quitting several times and only made it 8 months. I had resigned myself to be a smoker forever. I never even fully believed that e-cigs would get me off analogues, but it just seemed to happen anyway! Love these damn things!!!

I have to say that I have quit smoking but it was certainly by accident. I just got my first e-cig to see what it was all about. Really didn't have any intention of quitting.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs Over 40 years 2-3 pks/day
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs Quit August 7, 2009 after getting enough supplies I didn't run out of charged batteries

I smoked heavily and I vape heavily. Feel much better vaping, no too many cigs morning hangover.

Tom,

Here are my answers to clarify:

Ok I gather.. you are still vaping..
1. You are currently happy with vaping over the analog... ( your #4 is my question ) Are you still smoking analogs and don't feel adept to quit fully at this time.

I smoke analogs very rarely. 1 every few days for fun. I still have some leftover. I don't know that'd I'll buy more when they run out though.

Or
2. are you saying that you now enjoy vaping just as much as when you smoked analogs, that you have quit analogs but you still consider the act of vaping "smoking" because you have inhaled things all your adult life.

This is correct. I think of using a PV as "smoking" even though that is incorrect.

Which I enjoy more is a loaded question. For taste and experience I enjoy smoking a cigarette more than using a PV. The cigarette has so many downsides it's just not worth it. The obvious advantages of the PV easily make up for the shortcomings in flavor, and "smoke" quality.

-Gooney0

The only time I smoke analogs is when I'm waiting for my battery to charge, which has been plenty motivation for me to order the new one that should be here any day now.
I smoked for almost 10 years and refuse to up the 18mg that I started out with as I look forward to gradually decreasing the amount of nicotine that goes into my body which I have great confidence will be achieved with ease after trying this alternative.
As soon as I started vaping it became a replacement. There were times, especially mornings and after meals when I felt a craving for an analog but I opted for the e-cig each time and was happy not to put that hot filth into my mouth.
If I do vape more frequently it definitely isn't by much, and is because when smoking analogs I would try to wait at least 15 minutes after a craving hit because I had normally just put one out. Now when I want to, I puff with less worry that I might be throwing my lungs away.
However, I have certainly noticed especially when going to bed that since vaping I can just let a few of those cravings pass on their own. I really don't know why that is but if I were to guess - possibly it's that I have a little more confidence in my willpower. If it was possible to live a little without having to have that analog maybe I do have the strength to let go a little bit more without unbearable anxiety.

A. When did you start vaping - Three weeks ago tomorrow.
B. How long had you been smoking analogs 30 years (give or take)
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs Still smoke the occasional analog, but I think that's only because I have not found the exact right nicotine level in e-juice to fully satisfy (although I may have tonight)
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. I started with 11MG and immediately found it was too low. I moved up to 18 MG, which was better, but still ... Then I bought 35 MG, and that was too much. So I mixed half of the 35 with half of the 11. Been vaping all evening, and NO cravings for an analog at all. So I suspect 24 MG will end up my regular strength.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise. I think, for the most part, I vape about as much as I smoked.

A. When did you start vaping

A little over two weeks ago.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs

About 25 years.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs

Maybe a week, smoking between 1-3 a day (down from a 20-a-day habit).

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.

Started with a selection of 12, 18 and 26mg; quickly realized that the 26mg works best for me.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise.

Hard to say ... I pretty much chain-vape, but it probably comes down to the convenience of being able to do it almost anywhere. I'll have a few drags and put it down rather than devoting 5 minutes to a "session" like I did with cigarettes. My best guess is that I'm getting less nic every day than I was when I smoked, but the adjustment has been comfortable.

A. Began e-cigarettes August 6, 2009 2:35pm - do not use any other form of nicotine -Last two years of cigarette use was using 'mini-filters' which are designed to remove tar/nicotine - very motivated to end nicotine intake.
B. 42 years, 1 pack a day - always lites or ultra lites, menthol only
C. 5 minutes (had some hard cravings the first 30 days, but exercised thru them)
D. Started with 11mg, had immediate symptoms of nicotine poisoning, reduced same day to 6mg. Stayed at 6mgx2ml for 2 months, reduced to 3mgx2ml. Stayed at 3mgx2ml for 30 days, now floating between 0mg and 3mg. Currently approximately 2ml of 0mg day, occassional drops of 3mg. The 3mg is my menthol, (could only find it initially in 11mg - this is cut with 66% VG.) Omg flavored PG is cut with 50% VG.
E. Self-titrate, use M401 carts and count them. Take regular smoke breaks as I would when smoking. Do not vape any place I would not normally smoke. Time breaks, so do not vape more than I smoked. Carts for the week are filled once a week - one cart box for each day has replaced the pack a day. Exercise the same discipline with carts as I did with cigarettes - when the carts for the day are gone, no more until the next day, whether it's 0mg or 3mg.

Hope this helps!

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,
A. When did you start vaping April 4th this year.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs Just shy of 40 years

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs
(If you continued after getting your e-cig) I quit the same day as I started vaping. It was so easy that I was surprised. My wife still smokes so I have gone back to 1-3 a day so the smell on her is not repulsive, but not so much that I ever really want one.
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. I started with the NPro 4081 and used the high carts which I think is 24. Problem with 24 is that I will want to vape constantly, so I started using 36. Now that 36 is so hard to find I get what 36 I can find and add vg to make it 30, this seems to satisfy me better then the 24. I wil not buy less then 36 as a matter of principal. I also started with tobacco flavors but soon found RY4 and vanilla, I love the sweeter flavors. I may decrease the nic at a later time but I still have the same need for nic right now.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise. I do not vape more then I smoked but only because of the higher strength nic, with any lower I was chain vaping.

One thing that was not asked but may be helpfull to your paper is: I tried every cessation possible before vaping, patches, gum, hypnosis, inhalers and even welbutrin. None even helped for a single day, I really tried but nothing seemed to remove the craving I had for a smoke. The reason for me is simple, I liked smoking but not the affects on my health, now I can simulate smoking with as much or more enjoyment then cigarettes.
