which should I get?
Pros and cons?
Innovation or gimmick?
Simplicity?
Versatility?

As for my needs, I already use drippers exclusively. currently using a cyclone +afc which works great but is difficult to build in due to lack of room and only 2 posts. Looks swell on my vapor shark dna but a little goofy on my nemi clone. love clouds and flavor quite equally. Usually build around .8ohm with 28ga, whether it be a single micro, dual micro or parallel. So I've got to the point of deciding between these two drippers and now I can't make up my mind. Any advice? Recommend anything else that I should consider?

If we're talking originals, then I would say get the mutation X simply because of the price point. If clones, just get both :)

In terms of vape experience, I personally prefer the plume veil. However, that being said, both of these atty's are great. The MX is good but the airflow can be much unless you're building really hot (but luckily you can close it off!). The Plume Veil is much the same.

Both these Atty's shine when you get down real low in the ohms, around 0.2-0.3 range. The Plume is a joy to build on, and you can get a chuff cap if you want more airflow in the future. The MX is cheap and solid and has a very familiar deck style (3 post system).

Overall? Plume Veil has my vote, but that's personal preference.

I went with the plume veil as it is different from the typical 3 post design but haven't received it yet.
the only thing that the mutation x has to differentiate it from the rest is the huge airflow. so wit MX you are just buying more airflow, with the plume a different type of airflow and configuration...

it all depends on what you are looking for

Never used a Mutation X but have been continually impressed with the Plume Veil.

Currently using a single stove top coil using 24 ga. Flavor and vapor are rocking my world. That setup is also ideal for juice testing.

I still prefer my 30mm attys for ADV but the Plume Veil is my go-to when I want to test and play.

FYI, this is one airy atty. Even closed down to the minimum, it move a lot of air.

YMMV

I have both. I haven't used my plume veil in weeks... Just sayin.

Plume veil leaks on my and has a super shallow juice well. I get about the same amount of flavor from both, but the mutation definitely gives me more vapor production, and has a much deeper drip well...

Mutation x has taken everything else out of the line up.

Plume veil or Mutation x?
Very good question and as with every thing concerning vaping, it will receive rather subjective responses. That said, the following are my opinions based from experience with both authentics.

which should I get?

My opinion? MuteX.

Pros and cons?

Pro

Plume
Excellent vapor production.
Fair craftsmanship.
Innovative top cap.

MuteX
Excellent vapor production.
Good craftsmanship.
Versatile air flow.
Cost.

Con

Plume
Shallow well.
Neg post air holes parallel to deck can lead to leaking.
Cost.

MuteX
Dual coil only build (single coil setup allowable on v2).
Brushed finish did not match my Stingray X.

Innovation or gimmick?

Plume Veil: Innovative top cap. Gimmicky neg post air holes.

MuteX: Innovative deep well imo. Gimmicky ?

Simplicity?

Plume: Posi T-post = easy build.

MuteX: Tri-post design on the v1 (posi T-post (quad) design on the v2).
Larger post holes.

Versatility?

The Mute X is more veratile imo. My Plume leaked a lot. Perhaps that is my fault as I like to drip and have long sessions of vaping between dripping. With the MX, I could drip a ton of juice in and rip it for 20 minutes or so. The Plume? Not so much.

Still, although both attys are great at blowing clouds, I still like how I can load up the MuteX and close it down for flavor or open it up for clouds with minimal leaking and long vape sessions.

Take all that as you may. These are only my personal (subjective) observations and experiences.

You made a good choice. I love my Plume, but the Mutation X has become my go to. It holds a ton of juice, the adjustable airflow is versatile and easy making it a simple twist of the cap to go from a cloud chucker to a flavor machine. For the price it's just a nice atty.

One suggestion though.... Give it a good scrub before you build on it, mine came out of the box smelling a bit like machine oil.

Im about to bulk order the Mute X version 2s the version 1 is top notch I have no doubt the version 2 upgrades will work even better.

I totally agree. Got a v2 on pre-order myself. Love the upgrades - slanted afc tabs, single coil option (though I'll personally never used this, it's good to have should I ever want to try it) and posi T-post.
